Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
I haven't made up my mind yet but I'm thinking hard about playing HH 2004 again this year to get my baseball fix. Once again I have bought The Show and once again there is just something about it that isn't really doing it for me. I'm still going to mess around with it for a little bit just in case I have a change of heart, but if I dont....HH here I come.Comment

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
I'm not the only one!!! I can see how great the Show is and why people love it so much, but for some reason I just cannot get into it as much as others games like MVP, HH, or ESPN (2k4) baseball. I can't explain what it is, but that game just does not captivate me the way these others do.
I'd also like to know if XBox rosters are possible. Can PC rosters be converted for the Xbox?Comment

I don't know if all the mods are still available on other websites, but I have just about everyone of them saved, uniforms/stadiums, etc. If you need something PM me and I'll look it up, even DangerZs editor.
Sask, yeah, High Heat doesn't work on Vista. I tried a code I got someplace, but it still didn't work. Maybe I just didn't know how to apply it though. Would like to know if someone does.Comment

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
Okay. So. This topic existing basically made my day. Now, is there a way to get Pudge's rosters from PC format into PS2? I have a Sharkport so that isn't a problem. Someone mentioned a few pages back that in order to get them in PS2 format, one would have to use DangerZ's editor and cut the rosters down to 100 with 25 players at each level. Well, I have plenty of time for something like that, so what I'm asking is:
Could somebody walk me through the steps it would take to get the rosters from PC format to PS2? As long as it's not a huge, daunting task, I'd probably give it a go.Comment

2. Get a PC roster file.
3. Open up the editor, and open the PC roster file.
4. Once file is loaded, Go to File, Save As, Go to where it says Save as Type and switch from HH2k4 season files and switch to PS2 file and save.
Some problems I've experienced is somethings players will disappeared in the game, so basically its only good for one game at a time, not a season.Comment

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
bsb and MatthewK,
Hey, fellas. I read your posts yesterday and felt compelled to reply. You guys are not the only two - I'm the third, I guess. Once again, I went out and got The Show. Once again, I just don't rank it higher than HH and may be doing HH again. I said it last year and I'll say it again this year: The Show is a great game. Graphics are great, lots of great stuff within the game, good roster management, Text manager lets me get in some extra games, Manage mode is fun. Game play is really good and I really like the game. But.....it's just not HH. There is something about HH that keeps bringing me back. I have been planning a season with The Show and everything is set up and ready to go. Then I see HH sitting there and I keep thinking, "Those damn Phillies knocked you out last year. Are you going to just let them sit in that box and do nothing about it?" And now I'm starting to plan out a new HH season. I never rolled over last season, so I will start working on that and rosters over the weekend and will be ready for opening day. I don't know what it is - it certainly is not the graphics. But the gameplay just feels right. Again, The Show is really really good. You really have to think when you are playing just like HH. You have to have a gameplan when you are pitching and HH captures that part so well. It doesn't have flashy graphics or any bells and whistles. It just plays the best game of baseball. It does have a few bugs, but the biggest bug can be fixed on the spot. I may still go ahead and give The Show a good try this summer, but I get the feeling that when all is said and done, I'm coming back home to my old pal.

Sarge,
I'm thinking about going to back to High Heat as well. I'm currently waiting on either 2k9 or The Show (PS2) from Goozex. The 2k9 demo was good enough, and I'd probably get my baseball fix from either game. I like the fact you can crank through a High Heat game in just over 30 minutes. The ability to play High Heat on either my laptop or PC is also appealing since my wife won't always give me crap about going upstairs to my "man cave" to play one of the consoles. Heck, with the laptop, I could sit on my front porch and play.
If Pudge gets his 2009 rosters out by Opening Day and I still haven't received one of the 2009 games, there's a chance I'll go back to HH. I wish we could get some updated stadiums for HH2004. I tried messing around with modding them before, but didn't get anywhere. We have Photoshop now, so maybe I'll give it another go.Comment

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
Hi, Boomer!
Your “man-cave” comment had me rolling. I get the exact same thing. If I’m in the basement with the PS2 for too long, I hear about it. Oh, boy, do I hear about it! There really should have been something in the vows about letting us have our PS2’s, consoles and baseball games to go along with all the other important stuff!
Anyway, not to turn this into a 2K thread, but I tell ya, I really tried to get something going with 2K8 or 2K7 this year, too, but found them way too easy on the PS2 at least. I cranked the sliders all the way to 100 for CPU and zeroed out mine and still couldn’t get the CPU to give me a challenge. I’m not a great gamer, either, but I was shutting them out all the time. Unless they hit a homer, that was all they could do. I really was hoping for something good with 2K, but just didn’t find it. And I really loved 2K4.
Back to HH. Take a stab at the rosters yourself. It’s a pita, but not terribly hard. I’m pretty anal about my rosters, but I can live with them off a bit. As long as the big guys are in the right places, I’m ok. I fill in the cracks with guys from the 70’s and 80’s and 90’s like Joaquin Andujar, Mike Scott, Cecilio Guante, etc. No HOF’ers, but it’s fun to see these guys back in action. Last year, starting from scratch, it took about 7 hours of editing and moving guys around to get something I could live with. Stadiums, I can’t help with – I only have the PS2 and I don’t think you can do much there, but maybe I’m wrong.
I still like The Show a lot and hate to have THAT just sit there, too. Maybe I’ll just try to do a dual season and see how it works out.
