Re: Next Patch is coming soon
Ignorance is bliss, I guess. Of course, I just got the game this week so I haven't experienced many of the issues that guys that have had the game since launch have run into. I'm still in the honeymoon period with this game and loving it so farCurrently Playing:

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
I just want the AI stealing and shady strike calls fixed, not that the calls should be gone just that they should be balls more often. Also the runners taking off at wrong times when the catcher drops the ball but not significantly enough where the runners can advance.Last edited by goh; 05-13-2010, 03:44 PM.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
I've gone a different direction while waiting for the patch. I've decided to play on Pro and see how many achievements and cards I can unlock. I'm not really worried about it being sim, I'm just playing it out like an arcade game.
For one, they game is really fun. I play different teams using MLB Today, and the presentation not only makes the game more fun, but I get fed info on the standings and league leaders in real life. Pitching, hitting and running the bases are all really well done. Fielding is obviously too automatic, and with fielder speed at 50, it's harder to get those two bases on singles.
But what I've found when I just play for fun is that I'm still getting scores ranging from 11-4 to 3-1. The games play out in ways that mimic real baseball. Yes, if I drill down all of the stats, there are things that are not right. But playing MLB Today means that stats always look good, and the games are just fun.
I've started unlocking a bunch of achievements, and I'm unlocking cards left and right. All I can say is that even without the patch, I'm still having a blast playing the game. With the patch I will probably finally crank out a season.
Sometimes we get so worked up on the sim part of the game that we forget to just enjoy what is in the game. And 2K10 has a ton to enjoy. And seriously, other than the errors, the game plays out pretty darn realistically. The pitcher/hitter duels are pretty awesome. Throw in unlocking cards for striking out certain players, or holding certain players hitless ends up making the game even more compelling.
While I am anxious to get the patch, I'm finding the game plenty enjoyable as it is right now, to tell the truth.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
The problems this game is having are almost identical to the ones NBA 2k10 was having. Being on the PC, patch takes extra longer.
I do agree that trading in games is kinda bad unless you can get a good deal but Gamestop won't give you that. I know a bit OT here but i was going to trade in Battlefield Bad Company 2. Gamestop was only going to give me $23. Amazon was going ot give me $33 and bestbuy...$30.Can't believe I been a member here this longComment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
Then rent it first...a MUCH wiser use of funds (unless you've got a vault in your home).
While waiting on the patch I'm playing exhibition games everyday, randomly choosing 3 or 4 matchups of each day and playing with the actual lineups used. (I was told the trick to use with 2 controllers while setting up 2 teams and then going into the "choose sides" menu and remove the 2nd human controlled team).
Sometimes I get results that strangely close and other times it's way off...but I'm having FUN with this game and that's more than I could say for 2K9...
Patience guys... This patch will drop in due time and I believe will be worth it (though no doubt we'll find something to complain about).STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
Yup, those are two other big reasons why I put it down. I did not put them in my last post though, because I highly doubt they'll be addressed in the patch. Maybe the errors will, but I don't see the injuries getting put in. I'd love to be wrong though.
Even if errors are put in they'll be severly lacking. This game does not recognize the ball being overthrown and the game ends the play if it is, so those will almost surely not make it. I've never seen a ball bobbled by an infielder on a grounder, or even seen someone report that they've seen one.
Like I said, I've love to be wrong, but I'm doubtful right now.
I didnt "forget" to mention them, I was just listing which bugs ruin "off-line franchise mode" specifically.
Errors and Injuries (or lack thereof) dont just ruin off-line franchise... they mess up all modes! :P :P
Anywho; they worked on the patch for over a month, and Ron said he would post the "extensive" list of patch notes once Sony & Microsoft green-light the patch. So I'm hoping the patch fixes a LOT of stuff.Comment
