Do you have sliders for contact and power for swing stick.....love these sliders and don't want to play w/ classic. Thanks.

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Well just played my fifth game. Still too many home runs for both teams. I have lowered CPU Power to 50, and so far it's better. But I haven't tested it nearly enough.
Last Game:
Baltimore 8 @ Cleveland (Me) 9 - Thru 5 (had to go)
Hits - 16 - 7
Singles: 10 - 1
Doubles: 3 - 3
Home Runs: 3 - 3
Walks: 1 - 6
Strikeouts: 2 - 9
Balls: 49 - 38
Strikes: 67 - 64
Starters:
Guthrie, Bal - 3ip 5ha 7k 18era
Carmona, Cle - 1.1ip 10ha 0k 54era
Also, are guys getting tired way too easily? I have yet to see a guy last past the 6th without being in the low 20's in stamina.
I really think these sliders have great potential, and that is why I am using them, so don't I am just trying to piss on them.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Love the sliders, but still hitting too much homers when I want to. 2k needs to fix this issue with pushing up to hit homers. The only way to fix this is to have a nine zone hitting and combine it with swing timing and location. I hit homers on balls that are pitched outside and my swing location is up and in. It takes away from the game when you have hold yourself back from pushing up on a pitch up. But if it works for guys, all power to you. I have a question for swing stick does the left stick have the same effect as you would with classic.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Wesley - I would have to question your pitching, with all due respect mate, and theres no malice in that. The reason i say that is that with power on 50 for me i give up absolutely nothing, ERA way below 3 and hardly any homers. On 55 i give up some homers and ERA just above 3 but too low, now on 60 i give up realistic homers and ERA 3.74 and rising, so spot on. Its ok blaming the CPU's performance on sliders but in reality a lot of it is to do with how you pitch...like reality i suppose. The fact you gave up 16 hits and 3 HR's in 5 inns suggests poor pitching to me.
p.s. did you see the alterations i made for pitcher fatigues? Should be 35 Hum, 45 CPU, works perfect for me, just got a complete 116 pitch game out of Jason Schmidt and he wasnt dead at the end, and then i also get some guys dead in the 5th/6th because they give up so many hits. The fact you are giving up so many hits will of course go hand in hand with not getting far into games, you are having to throw so many more pitches because of the mistakes you are making.
Kumala....simple solution mate, dont push up! I hit spot on realistic homer numbers without ever having to push up, its all in the timing.Last edited by PsychoBulk; 07-25-2007, 04:22 AM.Comment

psychobulk, are you saying that you don't use the L stick at all when hitting or you just don't press up.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
I just dont push up, and dont use the left stick much at all, only when i purposely want to hit in a certain direction.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
yeah, I tried doing that and it seems good, but the fact that I have to hold myself back from pushing when a ball is up and in or out is to me kind of takes away from the challenge. not using the left stick seems like I am playing rbi baseball where you just press swing. So the sliders are great, and until 2k fixes the batting interface this is the way to go.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Right chaps, im having wonderful games with this slider set, just a few tweaks to the latest from nnng since the patch toned down power a lot.
Ive won 15-4, 4-2, 2-1, 6-4, 5-3 with these and ive lost 10-2, 3-2, 7-4 so im getting a wonderful variety of games, i am hitting realistic homer totals, so is the CPU, as are strikeouts/pitch counts the lot. Im now settled on these until 2K8, at last, after months of trying, ive found what i consider to be as close to perfection/sim baseball as possible with this game.
Give these a whirl and report back.
p.s. i use payoff pitching and classic hitting, results may vary if you use any other settings!

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Just wanted to say I am really enjoying these sliders. I played about 7 games before I started a franchise and had great success with them. Every game played out differently, some were close needing big saves by the closers and some were blowouts. My first game of the new franchise Zambrano pitched 120 pitches giving up 4 runs...3 of those in the 8th inning...he also had 8 k's. I won in a blowout scoring 16 runs but with only two guys hitting homers...mostly doubles.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
i just got raped by Johan Santana with 15 K's and 2 hits yet my ace gave up 10 hits and 4 runs man i could hit anything that came down the strikezoneComment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
I just switched over to these sliders and I really like them. The cpu's offense really has some bite. The only problem I have with 'em is I'm hitting to many homers. I shouldn't be hitting a hr every game with chipper jones. Has anyone found a good way to curb the hr's with out hurting the gameplay? Now, more than everComment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Still playing some great games with these sliders. I usually have a lot of hits during a game for me and the cpu, however, my last game Big Zambrano pitched my first ever no hitter. He had eleven k's against Pittsburgh.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Then theres your problem mate. Dont push up, it makes banging homers far too easy. Im hitting realistic homer numbers without ever pushing up, its all coming from the timing and picking the pitch (and having batter influence 100 so they bat like their real life tendencies).Comment
