So if the CPU is striking out too much at 35 would you turn that up or do something with human pitching to balance it out? Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Gotcha. Yes raise AI Contact incrementally til you see the results you desire

I play with 85 pitch speed and 80 meter speed. In three innings against the Astros batting as the Pirates, I drew 67 pitches. Only one walk and six strikeouts, but that's mostly because of my poor plate discipline. Some perfectly-timed swings in the middle of the zone were whiffs, though, so I might raise the user contact a notch. I scored 3 runs on 4 hits, including a double and homer. I'm altogether very happy with these sliders. Thanks, Joe.

If anyone is having trouble reading pitches, try this camera:

        Batter 2
        Height: 9 (8-10 to preference)
        Zoom: 10
        Pitch Zoom: ON

It almost gives a first-person batting view and really helps me to read pitches and work counts. I still have trouble with third strikes, though.

I have a question for anyone. Is it possible to throw out a CPU player advancing to any base, other then first? I have only played about 15 games so far, but it seems like if the runner tries for third or home he is safe everytime. It seems to me if the CPU decides to advance they are safe.

Remember this is my first year playing this game since 2k7.

Is the baserunner agression linked to this, or do I need more games?

Although it wasn't with Biggie's sliders I did gun down a runner at home today. That is not to say his aren't good. ...was just using a different set from Bulls23.

It can be done, I threw out two players in one game with Jay Bruce.
They were both trying to go 1st to 3rd on a single to RF.
Jay has a cannon and gunned them both down.

After playing some games this weekend I can say 35/70 user batting is 100% PERFECT.

35/70 for the cpu yields the right number of hits, but it slightly high on dink/dunk singles and strikeouts but it seems if cpu batting is raised any then their hitting gets ridiculous so 35/70 seems the way to go here too.

I'd say these are a complete set. I'm keeping a couple of my own tweaks like the pitch break influence, infielder speed and some other small stuff but I almost feel bad to even have another thread going because mine settings ended up so close.

Great job as always Joe. Now lets just hope for a patch to iron out some of these bugs and we will have a hell of a baseball season on our hands!

Broadcast Cam is available in Play Now & Franchise. It's not available in MLB Today games.

If people are not seeing enough power, bumb that slider, but also think about bumping the fielder sliders to compensate.

Also I'm thinking of tweaking Pitcher Fatigue. Seems like 60 is a little high. I believe this is causing the CPU to break out offensively in the later innings.

                    I feel 40 is a good #.

                    Any thoughts?

Regarding fatigue - I had no issue with it before so I never messed with it. Set at default (which I assume is 50). Feels fine.

How can you go from 60 to 40 with fatigue, and skip right by the 50? Is it because it is default?

Also. I am liking your sliders, but CPU contact at 35 is way to low. I am striking the computer out at least 12 to 13 times a game, regardless of who I am using, and I run with the Royals. This is just my opinion.

Bump CPU contact up. Remember the #'s are more of a start point than end point.

As for Fatigue, default 50 is fine. I just like the way 40 plays

You might consider lowering the pitch break influence slider. Seems like the higher this slider is the more K's there are, in essence it makes the ball move more so less contact, less solid contact. At least that's what I think, can't say for sure though.

What kind of approach do you use with power and contact swinging?

I like to restrict my power wing to 2-0 and 3-1 counts. I will expand that any count to power hitters with 2 outs and no one in scoring position. Otherwise, I use the contact swing.

I think it is important to clarify how one uses the two types of swings when assessing the results one gets. Some folks use the power swing nearly exclusively. Some use it with power hitters only. some use the contact swing exclusively.

I think there is merit to using just one kind of swing. The two swing types really confuses things. But in this case, the smaller window for contact when using the power swing makes it a good gamble when you are in a hitter's count. You can afford to whiff. Also, it is hard to produce a rally with no one in scoring position and two outs. I think there is a benefit to gambling and trying ti grab an easy run on a HR.

I haven't really had as much time as i would like with the game, as I went to Boston for PAX, and stayed the whole week. So I'm not sure how folks are using the sliders yet.

Yes... I did this already. I have it at 50. I also have the CPU contact at 50.
