I was only posting my sliders as a base to work off of. I'm hitting realistically with power at 45.

Yeah I'm fine with my sliders. Played 2 games with BOS last night against BALT. Lost 2-1 on a Pedro vs Sidney Ponson pitching duel (no HR's) and won 5-4 the next game (Manny HR and Mueller HR).
So the one's I posted work great for me, but obviously won't be for everyone.
My thought is: With pitch speeds on Real, all aids off, 1 button swing using the True Aim system and you're still hitting too many HR's..... more power to ya.Comment

Maybe I'm just having some good games. Like I said, only played 3 games so far. And I'm using the Cubs and Red Sox who have some boppers......now if I start hitting bombs consistently off number one starters, then I think some work will have to be done."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: Official Slider Discussion
i started a GM mode with the sliders from JB and i'm like 6-9 with my Mets. my 4th starter Yates and 5th starter Erickson give up most of my bombs. i bumped up Yates stam to 106 b/c with the roster up date in the dl section his stam was only like a 40 or something. so i bumped it up b/c hes a starter and needed more stam!!
overall though i'm getting pretty realistic stats!! love this game!!Twitch

i am not sure if i am playing the same game as i read some of you's sliders. i play on legend and have human power down to 32. yet i have 3 guys in the top 5 in home runs in the majors. i raised AI pitching alot. corner pitching up to about 90. i was gettin pitches down the middle way too many times and that would result in the long ball. i also moved up the "change of speed" to about 75. everything else really is the same. i jacked up AI baserunning to 95 so that they try to advance to the next base more frequently. at times the AI wasnt trying to advance even if the ball was at the wall and my guy is just grabbin it. i also moved up AI batting. meaning i moved up their ability to take pitches whether they are balls or strikes. makes me work the batter more. but thats about it. i just dont see how some of you have power at 45. i was getting easy 3-4 homers a game at 40.
anyone know the effect of the human pitching fatigue? i know some of you have discussed it in the previous posts. HOWEVER, i have the fatigue on set on 20. YET, my number 1 and 2 pitchers have "tired" in the 70 pitch count. i move the slider up the other way to about 80 and they tire much faster. so obviously the lower the slider the less they fatigue. it just seems like all that movement on slider doesnt do much to the fatigue. its a very very small increase or decrease. just wanted to know if someone has had any luck with it. thanks!
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
I lowered all the hitting numbers down to 33: Human Power, AI Power, AI Contact, and AI Skill. The result? An 18-inning marathon with my Cubs beating the Braves 3-2. I think I struck out 14 batters while striking out 12 times myself. I basically used JB's sliders and tweaked the above numbers. There was two homeruns hit in the game: One by Alex Gonzalez and one by Chipper Jones. Derrick Lee and Ramon Martinez hit shots off the wall, as did J.D. Drew. So, as you can see, it was pretty random, though I did feel like I could strike the computer out easily sometimes. Will be tweaking some more to get more realism."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Yeah I had my first blowout with my sliders last night so I might start doing some tweaking. I won 18-6. Granted the CPU starting pitcher got injured and the reliever they brought in walked 6 hitters so that was part of it.
However, I've seen a little too much power from the CPU and from the Human player. When I get home from work I think I'm going to drop that down and test it out. That 18-6 game had about 6 HR's by me and about 3 by the CPU. Too many IMO....
Striking out the CPU is still a challenge for me. I only get about 6-7/game with guys like Pedro and Schilling. That seems about right.Comment
