Your right it isn't our job. Our "job"(though unpaid) is to run these forums which we will do as we see fit.

This is also an MVP forum, not an EA Customer Service Forum. If you want to complain about some service you have received from EA, then try their forums. I am sure you will find plenty of threads about it there as their forums are all but unmoderated.

Why not just admit that you know if you actually take a stance against EA that they will be less likely to give you demos and early releases.

I had always thought the point of a forum was to discuss a game good, and bad . I guess not when your moderators get on their knees for EA.

Brilliant - you love to assume.. well assume this, EA has never given me ANYTHING.

This site doesn't get demo's and early releases? So either you are lying, or you jack your content from some other site.

I agree with you fossen. I don't think the BBB is meant for this. Just an FYI, it's not illegal to put out a crappy game, or one with bugs. What's next? Someone putting together a class action lawsuit because player progression isn't right? Boy is society too litigious nowadays. Games have always been buggy, we're more 'hardcore' gamers, so we get more annoyed than others, but we need to have a realistic expectation. That's my opinion at least. And if all this stuff really matters to you, then wait for a week after a game comes out, and then you can read all these posts and decide if there's any problems that make it not worth playing. I programmed a sample GBA game for a class in college, and it's a lot harder than you'd think to get everything right, I can't imagine a game on the scale of what EA and other companies do. Maybe I just cut them more slack, I'm just not ready to call up the firing squad quite yet.

No, the point of the BBB is to make sure that people are treated fairly by large companies, and to be an advocate for the little man. If you have ever dealt with EA Customer dis-Service, you would know that they are a joke, and could care less about resolving any problems. No one is saying sue EA, they are simply saying this is how you can make sure your voice at least gets heard, because trust me, some HS drop out hitting auto-reply is not going to do this for you!

I guess I just don't think that EA has defrauded anyone in any way...From what I understand the purpose of the BBB is, complaining about a bug in a game isn't it. Complaining about customer service could be valid, but we're just getting bad customer service because we're complaining about a bug. If their customer service has been so bad, why don't we hear people complaining other when a game has just released. Games are buggy, always have been, always will be, I just can't wait for the posts with "Here's ESPN Videogames's BBB link", here's "ASB's BBB link", because they'll have bugs too, and I doubt their customer service people will tell you what you want to hear, because I doubt they really have an answer, other than 'it's a bug' which I highly doubt they're allowed to say.

Please tell me you're not serious.

My God! EA isn't defrauding anyone! Do you have even a vague concept of what the BBB is actually for?!?

Then get pissed at EA. Or get pissed at the game store you purchased from, and their return policy.

But the Better Business Bureau? That's utterly ridiculous.

You paid money for a game that you don't like. Move on.

Do you call the BBB when you pay $10 for a movie, and hate it? Or when you buy an album that you don't like, you call the company to complain, hoping they'll release a "patch"?

BTW - I bought the game on both platforms, and decided to stick with the Xbox version. I sold my PS2 copy for $44.95, losing a whole $5 on the deal.

Franchise mode works. You can play 120 years, if so desired.

You just don't like the way it works. You feel they didn't do a good job with it - but the feature is there as promised.

Okay, so how did this rather large flaw escape critique from the reviewers on this site? Fear of EA or complete incompetence by the reviewer?

Maybe they were actually playing the games instead of simming 120 years to see what would happen?

If you wanted a baseball game to sim seasons and just be the GM, it wasn't very smart to buy this one, even if the player progression was perfect.

                        Read the review.

The review focused on gameplay, not simming. If you want to sim, buy OOTP. This review focused on the game as intended - where you actually play the game.

And if you think we're afraid of EA .... you haven't been around long. We're always accused my people of being fanboys for one game or another. We're HH fanboys, or Sega fanboys, or Xbox fanboys, ow whatever ....

Point is, we don't give a damn who the publisher or developer is. We like good games. And if you're not rtying to play Amateur QA, MVP is a heck of a good game.
