Hey Pared, just some observations from your sliders after 20 or so games:

-I've been noticing the CPU taking way too many called third strikes, it's like every hitter is becoming Ben Grieve and just not wanting to swing. I've had some at-bats where the CPU has struck out on full counts, and they didn't swing the entire at-bat.

-With the CPU pitcher's ball rate increased, it seems that the CPU pitchers are getting themselves into trouble too often, and its resulting in huge innings. Maybe its because I'm very patient, but I've drawn walks with pitchers against the CPU on what seems to be a too frequent basis

-The pitch counts are going pretty well for both sides, but this seems to hurt the CPU more than it hurts the Human, because it's almost as if the CPU doesn't know when it absolutely needs to throw stirkes (i.e. runners on 1st and 2nd, average hitter at the plate, but a masher is on deck, and the CPU walks the average hitter). Because of this it seems I can get 4 or 5 run innings too often, because the CPU falls behind in the majority of at-bats.

Def. turn it off. I'm playing on PC and there is no vibration using a PS2 controller.

Thanks for the feedback fellas, new set this weekend with more addressed such as baserunner speed, steals, and so forth...

I am curious about a possible test with ball/strikes by the CPU. We all know that our patience determines, walks. Have you every tracked for a period of time how many balls/strikes the CPU throws without swinging the bat? What mix might we expect?

I'm not so sure that the AI is hitting well enough with these sliders. I'm pretty sure that the User Pitching is in the right place since I miss on the pitch meter accuracy mark fairly often but I'm still not giving up more than 5-7 hits per game and relatively little power. Would the best way to give the AI a little bit of a boost be to up the AI batting contact slider a few notches?

I'm not so sure that the AI is hitting well enough with these sliders. Because the CPU is made to pick up on human tendencies, this wouldn't work. It would just randomly be throwing balls/strikes.

The sliders are in place with the mindset the user IS going to make contact and try and hit the ball. One flaw with them, admittingly, is if the user just stands there every single at bat and NEVER swings, you will walk. However, if you hack all day, you won't notice that. Seeing as how no one has pointed this out, you can tell people don't really notice that b/c they aren't testing sliders, they're playing. My goal is to try and find a harmonious balance, but like I mentioned above, individual results will vary. Remember, the sliders were very preliminary, so this is something I've looked into already and am currently tweaking. What I release this weekend should be a bit better in this sense.

Are you "The H" over @ MVPmods? Anyway, I'm shocked LOWERING CPU contact has helped... but yes, you are right, there needs to be some balance with CPU swing frequency. Go lower than -25 and the third strike problem gets worse. Go higher and the CPU is too first pitch swing happy. -25 right now is a happy medium, IMO, but I'm hoping we can get it even better! Let me know if you find anything.

LOL Yes. Play a whole game and don't swing. When the pitcher starts tiring he will begin throwing many balls, walking batters. But the problem currently is the CPU walks TOO many...

*Edit* That's not true. I think I'm going to leave things as they are. For some reason, in a discussion I forgot the avg. walks per team was 4/game. I started thinking the number was 2/game. The slider is fine where it is now. But I'm still going to try something that I think will benefit us...
