After watching Springer bean Bonds my friend (who hates Bonds with a passion!) would like to nominate Russ Springer for NL MVP.

Just like any thread that has the name Kobe in it, all the tools come out of the woodwork.

At least my posts have a little variety, as opposed to monotonous and hatred-laced drivel.

If you took the time to actually read through some of this thread, you would see there is far more to it than just "monotonous, hatred-laced drivel." But, then again, that is probably a little too much to ask.

I don't need to spam my hatred in a thread to show that I've read it.

I use to think I hated Bonds, but this thread has made me realize that I just had a mild dislike for him. Thats one of the things that I love about the Internet, no matter how how manical or obsessive you think you are about something you can always go online and fine 100 people crazier than you.

Not thats its going to happen but I'd actually like to see him break the record. Not because I want him to have it, but for the sheer entertainment value of watching people melt down on these boards. Travis Bickle would be worried about the mental health of some of you guys.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

                      Don't you mean 714?

Geez...You would've thought he just jacked 755, not 714. I can't recall the last time I've seen so much attention given to someone who just tied for 2nd on a list.

Call me when he's sitting on 754 and I still won't care...

I don't know if this holds true for most of you or not, but for me 714 is a bigger number than 755. Yes, Aaron holds the record and should be lauded for it's amazing stature, but Babe did 714 in about 800 fewer at bats than Barry, and Aaron had even more at bats than Barry did (if I'm not mistaken). Regardless, love him or hate him, Barry is an amazing player (was so long before this whole steroids thing too).

I was excited to see him pass Ruth but as he got closer I got tired of him. What is with Bonds striking out so much now?

Bingo. If you are going to drill someone just make sure it is below the waist. That is pretty much an unwritten rule in baseball. I do have a problem with people intentionally throwing at people's heads though.

I think he was trying to hard. I think he felt the pressure and just swung at anything close. 715 should come a lot sooner.
