Well I take it they meant Soriano back at 2nd, which I'd rather see DeRosa or Theriot there.
A-Rod with the Cubs lineup, I'd expect to bat 5th also moving A-Ram to 5th and A-Rod to 4th wouldn't seem bad. I don't expect to see Soriano out of that leadoff spot unless its something along the lines of Lee, Ramirez, A-Rod, Soriano batting 3-6.

Yeah right... whatever. The guy has no loyalty. The fans brought this upon their own team, for the record.

Now before every OS Stankee fan comes on here ready to post how "we cheered him like crazy this year," I'd like to point out the steady stream of boos he received last year. Well warranted, but still boo's nonetheless.
Add to the fact that Jeter had a far worse postseason than he did, and got almost no heat for it. If he'd had the same postseason as Jeter this year, he'd have been strung up...

I believe Jeter just hit into another DP.

Its possible that right now he thinks another team might be capable of providing the same kind of deal that Yankees could give. All I know is we're most likely screwed without him.

His agent is a tool. He's going to use the Yankees to drive up the price from the Cubs, Dodgers etc. That's what he does.

The difference is that Jeter has actually done something in the postseason before--many times, actually. Alex Rodriguez hasn't done a damn thing yet.

The only guys on Boston who really expressed any public resentment toward him was Millar and Schilling. Millar's gone and I think Boston would dump Schilling like a bad habit (especially in his old age) if it means A-Rod at short next year.

It would be priceless if the Yanks win the WS without Torre or A-Rod next year.

Oh well, A-Rod's the best player on the planet but I think it's obvious that The Sons are trying to build a team like the 90's dynasty which was void of any mega-star.

Lowell back in Pinstripes next year? Crede? We need to get some right-handed pop somewhere.

Next year will be the year of the pitching. Just like the old days. Joba, Wang, Hughes, hopefully Pettite, maybe some Kennedy, Mussina, with hopefully an improved bullpen (I have a feeling Veras will be the X-factor next year) and it'll be just like the old days.

A-Rod would move to the three while everyone would move down in the lineup. Lee and Ramirez aren't on the same level as A-Rod offensively so they definitely wouldn't hit ahead of him. I think the lineup would probably look something like this.

                            1. Soriano LF
                            2. DeRosa 2B
                            3. A-Rod SS

                            5. Ramirez 3B
                            6. Floyd RF (Theriot will probably be there against lefties)
                            7. Soto C
                            8. Pie/Jones CF ( I think Jones finally gets dealt this offseason)

Yup, $300 million is essentially the starting point for this guy. It's going to be very interesting to see who's going to fork over that kind of money especially w. the luxury tax these days. I don't see him going to Anahiem but who knows. If he goes to Wrigley he may hit 1,000 dingers by the time he hangs up his cleats.
