As a Yankee fan I'd hate that. Melky's become too valuable and Wang's gpod enough that the upgrade wouldnt be worth losing Melky and the potential of Kennedy that we saw

Would the Yanks do that? I wouldn't trade for Santana when we can sign him next year.

Plus I doubt the Twins want a sinkerballer.

We'll hopefully get a shot at Santana next offseason. But I'm pretty sure we could have afforded both him and A-Rod, with Giambi and Pavano coming off the books after the year, maybe Abreu too.

Well they would have also worked out a long term contract with him to ensure they'd have him locked up.

Personally, I would have done the trade. Santana and some league average pitcher > Wang and Kennedy. They could have also replaced Melky with someone like Aaron Rowand until Tabata or Austin Jackson is major league ready.

Doesn't really matter though. It wouldn't make any sense for the Twins to do that trade.

As a Yankee fan I say good riddance. Irreguardless of how NY fans treated him by booing or cheering, I got sick and tired of seeing him put up these awesome numbers during the reg. season only to play like a soft *** in the playoffs. I want people on my team who produce when it counts. Now granted because of his season we made it to the playoffs but I'd rather see them spend that money to better the team.

I feel what you are saying..Watching Arod in the playoffs felt like he expected pitchers just lay it in there for him to hit it..Like you said..Good riddance..man i so want the offseason to start so we can see how this team shapes up. Gonna be an exciting winter!!

I like reading how there are only 2 or 3 teams that could "afford" him. Even KC has enough money to afford him. Seeing a player out there this good, and hear how teams "can't afford him", makes me realize how bad MLB baseball truly is for fans.

I'll take the production. There's a good chance Manny will slide a little more next year and given that Ortiz needs surgery on his knees you just can't assume that he'll be 100% anymore. Offer him $30 million for seven years and see if he takes it. If he wants more then someone else can offer him a stake of their franchise. =P

I don't know. Do you really want to ruin a good thing in Boston by plugging in an insecure superstar who chokes in the bigtime?

I think A-Rod is more of a California guy and Augie Moreno would LOVE to get A-Rod on the Angels. I say there's a better shot of him being in Anaheim or the NL then signing with Boston.
