      Will they? No.

      My bet: Atlanta

And for giggles and my wishes, Darkhorse: Cardinals
Agree they'll probably be gunshy after the way the Mulder deal blew up in our faces, that said we did atleast get a world series with it, although Mulder didn't contribute much to it.

Our farm system is actually getting some pretty good depth though, much better than the situation we were in when we made the Mulder trade so we can afford to make a deal.

It would take Rasmus and two good pitching prospects though to get it done, depending on who the pitchers would be involved it wouldn't be that bad of a deal, anytime you can land a pitcher as dominant as Peavy you pretty much have to do it. Losing Rasmus sucks due to his potential but you never know how that potential will turn out, plus his dad has been mouthing off about the way the organization has handled moving him up (dad thinks he should be in the big leagues).

I agree with you I think he ends up in Atlanta, but Mozeliak needs to put his stamp on this organization sooner or later with a big trade, this would be the perfect time to do so, give us a Peavy/Wainwright 1-2 punch for years to come, looks good to me.

I think it's Atlanta, just as long as Heyward, Jurreins, or Hanson aren't in the deal I'm good.

Um, a deal with Atlanta would include one if not two of those players...

I think it'll end up being Hanson, Escobar, and other parts...I'd do it. The chance to get an ace like Peavy doesn't come along every so often.

Cards are apparently out of it...

Just as long as it doesn't involve Juerrjens. I like Escobar but it won't bother me to see him traded.

I think he ends up in Atlanta. It just makes too much sense for him to end up anywhere else.

I think its a longshot for the Cubs to get him. If they trade for anything, it will be a left handed bat.

Nah, they say GM Wren won't give up his prospects to which I happily applaud...We deal with too many injuries to get another plagued vet; I mean we finally are getting rid of Hampton!

I'd venture to say he'll go to either one of the New York teams

Good luck with that. If he was a free agent, I'd agree, but he's very adamant about his no-trade clause, so it's down to five teams. Houston, Chicago Cubs, LA, St. Louis, and Atlanta (although, they're looking more and more unlikely).

Count Atlanta out then, they're not willing to part with anyone worthwhile.

Peavy might be staying in San Diego then.

It's down to Houston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. I think it was stated earlier that the Cardinals are out of the running.

I don't think Peavy will be going anywhere since teams are reluctant to part with players and the fact that Peavy has pretty much put out a "don't trade me."
