Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
So we give up on a very young player for somebody who's at best a moderate upgrade in center field? That's just plain nuts. If the Rangers had that philosophy, we wouldn't have starters like Neftali Feliz and Derek Holland in the rotation right now.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

If there was ever a time to institute a 0.5 year deal, I think it would be now. I'm sure Jackson will be with a new team in 3 monthsJayElectronicaBluElzhi2PacTheNotoriousB.I.G.ReksSc arfaceFashawnJeruThaDamajaComment

With a flukey high BABIP. The only peripheral stat he had drop significantly after the promotion was his K/9. Still though, small sample.Comment

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
He was the rookie of the year at the highest level of professional Cuban baseball last year. I'm reading that It's a major league deal, so we'll have to open up a spot on our 40 man for him too.Comment

If They are able to get Cepedes or Soler along with this guy, man I love the way Theo is upgrading this farm system.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

I wouldn't complain about that; heck the Cubs may have just got a steal. For comparison, Leyons Martin signed for $15 million, and he's supposed to be a center fielder with a very good ceiling.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
This annoys me with players
"It was real cold that day in Pittsburgh, and I felt something in my arm," said De La Rosa, the Rockies' best pitcher during a tough early going of last season. "I said it was a blister and they took me out of the game. I told them I would be OK. But I was not. It was weakness. The next day, I felt pain when I woke up."
De La Rosa toughed out eight more starts, until May 24 when his elbow went during a start against the D-backs at Coors Field. He tried telling Rockies manager Jim Tracy and head athletic trainer Keith Dugger that the problem was his groin, but this time no one was fooled. Shortly thereafter, De La Rosa underwent season-ending Tommy John ligament transfer surgery.Aaron
