The contradiction of sports and people in general is hilarious to me. All we ever hear from pundits is “Just come clean” or “Don’t make up some silly excuse” when these guys get busted. And if they are not denying, it’s always the same thing… “I took it to recover from an injury” or “I didn’t know what I was taking @ the time.” We all know that’s BS. And majority of the time those guys don’t get trashed nearly as bad as they should,but I digress.

You always hear those same pundits say “Just tell the truth, just be honest and we will forgive.” As far as I know, Ryan Braun did, and now this guy is getting hammered!!! No wonder there’s always an excuse for taking these things. He’s making no excuses (to my knowledge) and just flat came clean. The hypocrisy is amazing.

Btw, he deserves everything he is getting and probably more. 2 things that are tough characteristics to overcome are liars and cheaters, and now he has the stigma of both. He is a PoS for his actions all the way around this thing. I am not defending him at all with this post, and hope it doesn't come off that way. All I am saying is he comes finally clean, with no excuses, and is now getting his. What about all the others who had an excuse but took it for the same reasons as him? They also deserved their day, and many just got off with a slap on the wrist media-wise.

The only reason he admitted to anything yesterday was because MLB gave him a deal, and even then he didn't admit to cheating. He "made some mistakes." It's weak, and he deserves to be hammered and labeled a fraud. The Brewers are on the hook for the rest of his contract through 2020, a contract that was entered into without them knowing he was a cheat. Even if his performance suffers, he still wins.

Just to set the record straight, Ron Roenicke said this morning that the Brewers are still in the dark, like everyone else what, when, where and why on Braun's apology. MLB and Braun are not forthcoming with information.

Oh duh! But still, isn't it implied? Like, conspiracy to use PED's. And couldn't, if they wanted to, the law make MLB hand over any evidence they have to bring these guys up on criminal charges.

Lets be honest here, the MLB is policing itself. It's kind of a conflict of interests. Could the threat of criminal charges be the disincentive that a lot of people are talking about trying to install to further deter players from using PED's?

His point is the FIRST time he was caught, not only did he lie but he was very angry and convincing about it. If this was the first time and he made the statement he just made, I don't think people would be hammering him. The problem is when he thought he had a chance to get away with it he not only didn't come clean, he went on the attack. NOW that he knows he's got no way to weasel out he acts as if it's a huge weight off his shoulders.

And I'm one who could care less about guys taking roids (beyond it being against the rules... don't think it should matter in the record books). His statement needed a bit more meat about what happened his first test for me to have any kind of respect for it.

As a lifelong Brewer fan just very disappointed and angry.

Can't believe the number of people around here still defending him though. Not peopl on this board people I talk and interact with. Sad.

I don't see how that would help him any.

I don't think it helped Lance Armstrong. Nobody would believe a word Braun said anyway. And quite frankly, I wouldn't blame them for that.

If I were him I'd just fade into obscurity until Opening Day next year. When the hammer drops on A-Rod in a few days it'll take all the heat off Braun for a really long time anyways.
