I love the Swoosh. But I love Nike though.

I agree with this and the NBA has sponsors now. And I think they did a fine job with it, and it's not even noticeable to me anymore.

        For ex..

it might fester so long to the point the only way this can get resolved is if Houston fans demand decency from their team. other teams and their fans, as long as Manfred is running things with his frozen deer-in-the-headlights stare, other teams and their fans are just tilting at windmills.

Lol I'm guessing Houston was playing at their home spring training park. I'm sure at Steinbrenner field it would have been encouraged.

I think in an ironic twist. MLB games will be watched more this year. Everybody loves to watch a team they hate. Astros are now one of the most hated teams in all of sports. They will be a must watch ticket wherever they go on the road. I expect fans to come out of the woodwork just to give them a piece of their mind.

Alot of games might even get sold out. Definitely think it results in a boon in baseball. We'll see.

                  Re: MLB Off-Topic

Regarding the jersey sponsors, something like Majestic wasn't right on the front of the shirt (it was on the sleeve and the bottom of the shirt, where it's most often tucked in). Not only that, but I don't associate Majestic with literally anything else. I just know that they make baseball uniforms. In that way, it is very "subdued" and done tastefully.

Nike is everywhere, and the logo goes right across the front of the shirt in a very obvious way. Not only that, but as I said I associate it with college baseball uniforms. Well, at least with San Diego State because I know that is their sponsor.

Anyway, that's just me. I don't need the players to be walking sponsors. I think NASCAR having it is cool, though. That's what makes me identify each driver. I can identify the players and teams without the Nike logo, and there are only two of them playing at a time. I'll tell you one thing, though: if I get a new player uniform and I'm able to, I will not get one from Nike. I will get an old one if the player is there and still on that team, and the uniform is current (by logo/color standards).

I also don't like the matte helmets that teams like the Giants have, but I don't know if that was a result of a brand name change.

I've thought this as well. But it's not like it's the LeBron Miami team tho. It's not a good kind of heat. The fact that they cheated does not make me more likely to want to pay to see them live or watch their games on TV. I don't even care if they have a good or bad season, really.

I guess I haven't been paying attention, the Astros 1st road series is in Oakland and they will (probably) face Mike Fiers in the 2nd game of the series. You can't make this stuff up.

I just know I'm going to tune into Astros games more then ever. And I think that will have an affect all throughout baseball.

Short term, I agree. We'll probably see a spike in ticket sales. Long term though, the way this hasn't been handled hurts baseball.

We've got people flying in from other teams for this series. I've got my tickets for the 30th.

Regardless...for a sport that "no one cares about", there sure has been a lot of angst and opinions from EVERYONE on this Astros stuff.
