I always wondered how much different it could have been for those Braves if they had won that first one.

1991 WS felt like it was really back/forth but ATL was better all around. It's one of the few 6-game WS where the winning team was outscored in the series.
Or put another way, the Blue Jays won that World Series despite their "ace" Jack Morris stinking up the joint every time he took the mound.

0-3, 7.43 ERA, 18K/15BB in 4 ALCS/WS starts. The only Morris start Toronto won, he was yanked down 5-1 in Oakland before the Jays made a late comeback capped by Alomar's 9th inning HR off Eck.

The Rangers are 4-16 in their last 20. This collapse has been terrible.

As a Red Sox fan, I know something about late season collapses. Just wait until the last series of the season for the real heartbreak.

Don't worry, Rangers have a 4 game series vs Jays coming up.

The way the Jays play, the Rangers probably win 3 of 4.

This season is gonna come down to game 162 with the fanbase of the top team out of the playoffs raging that they finished better than the Twins and at least 1 NL playoff team yet are out of the playoffs.

The Rangers don’t have a good history of beating the blue jays with something on the line

Looks like the Rays are staying after all.

The domed, 30,000-seat ballpark, to be built near the Tropicana Field site, would end a quest that dates back 16 years and includes proposals on both sides of Tampa Bay.

What I don't get is how does this improve anything?

It's in the same location, same artificial turf, same fully domed stadium, just a newer ballpark with smaller capacity.

Wasn't the whole point of a new stadium to not be in the same location as before, and presumably have non artificial field and retractable roof?

Rays confirm the new ballpark, will open in 2028.

So with As likely going to Vegas soon and Rays situation sorted out, how soon before MLB starts up the expansion talks? I could see them at least discussing it as early as this offseason.

ST. PETERSBURG -- The message was splashed across every scoreboard inside Tropicana Field on Tuesday morning. It was reiterated by everyone who stood behind a microphone, from principal owner Stuart Sternberg to St. Petersburg mayor Ken Welch to other club, city and county officials. The Rays are “here to stay.”

Rays didn't learn. Should have left St. Pete and moved to Tampa or just leave Florida. I also hate the design.
