I've heard 400 mil and that's MORE than enough. If he somehow gets a 500 million dollar contract. I will personally seek out, beg and plead with Scott Boras to represent me in any financial situation.

Yankees could do $500M easy. Especially in 2018 dollars. Sports will bring in even more money then, as traditional TV content continues to lose value on the big networks.

I can't imagine Harper getting paid $500m unless it was, like, 15/525.

I'm envisioning 48-50 million per year.

Jeez...One of the reasons he was brought here was to help get grass at Rogers Centre.

The winter of bad PR continues for this franchise. SMH.

Let's not use TOO much revisionist history. Yes he was brought here to win ballgames. I mean, that's the job of anyone in the front office/management but the original idea was that the next president would be more involved in business matters but still have some baseball ops experience. Thanks to the AA situation blowing up and Shapiro seemingly more intent to have a huge role in baseball ops it's completely flipped.

A report just came out where Shapiro says he thinks this team is capable of winning the World Series. The man just comes across as a bit disingenuous to me especially considering how some of the things he's said has been exposed as outright lies.

A-Roid (275) and Stanton (325) are already over a quarter billion, quite a few guys at 240 mil.

It's not that hard to imagine, as Stanton is only 175 away from that. And then when Mike Trout becomes a free agent a couple years after Harper, he should fetch the same.
