As for the rumors about the Rangers, I hope they back to the red/white color scheme.
I still don't even see what is different about it.

Yea he took a growth hormone to help him get back on the field after a knee injury. He wasn't trying to enhance his on field play but actually just to get back on the field.

Nah, you didn't misread it. Again though, I was just throwing out a theory. My below point will probably show why that makes a lot less sense now.

Wright has been quoted about how banged up he is and how much his knee troubles him, of course PED's could help him. They aren't just for getting Mark McGwire huge, hell the worlds best Bridge player got done recently for taking PED's (don't really understand that one myself)
I did not know about the knee thing.

Yea he's been dealing with a knee issue since like 2016 when John Farrell had him pinch run during a game against the Dodgers in LA.

I always want to know what leads people to make these changes? Does someone just walk into a meeting like "I know how we can drive up business! Let's change the color of our logo to a slightly different shade!" Or "Let's remove something real minor and call it new!"

Yankees got back YES Network, like we knew they would. Partnering with Amazon, Sinclair, and private investors, gross. Starting to wonder if these teams have found a way to profit off of illegal streams because every move they make seems to make them more valuable.

We live in a world where the network for a team is worth more than the team. That feels amazing to me.

Sports teams have always been businesses, but it does feel like we are at a point where the business side is taking over from the sporting side

If it's such minor changes, does it really lead to people buying the new stuff?

For me, I do the opposite. If a minor change happens or the brand changes, I'll buy the old stuff because it's the same thing.

I've gotten jerseys for around half price simply because the league changes brands so old stuff goes on clearance.

Cleveland Browns changed theirs awhile back and the only change was a slightly different shading. I wonder how many people bought the new stuff simply because of that.

Speaking of which, with MLB changing to Nike soon, I'm guessing all the Majestic stuff will be on clearance.

So it works on you then? They release new stuff, put the old stuff at a lower price and you buy it, seeing it as a bargain. They must still be making plenty selling even at half price I imagine as none of this stuff costs anything to make really. Then if some suckers pay full whack for the new stuff then you're winning twice!

If Barry Bonds had homered as efficiently during his career as Mark McGwire did throughout his, he would have hit 959 home runs.

People here no doubt will have alot to say about this: (radar enabled K zone means robot umps)

Breaking: the rules changes @MLB is experimenting with in the @AtlanticLg are here:
                              - move the mound back 2 feet
                              - larger bases (18 sq in)
                              - prohibition against defensive shifts
                              - radar-enabled K zone
                              - 3 batter minimum for pitchers
                              - no mound visits unless removing pitcher

I don't just suddenly buy stuff because it's cheaper. There's stuff I'd want, but unless it's on a major sale, I don't bother to get since it's more of a collectible thing(like jersey). Even those t-shirt jerseys, I see some for like $40, but as soon as the brand changed, they had clearance on old ones for like $15 only. $15 for any t-shirt is good, but especially good price for a sports related one.

Speaking of robot umps, I almost always imagine that eventually if they go to it, there wouldn't be somebody behind home plate making the call, but you'd see a flashy sign on the scoreboard with sounds that appear like in RBI Baseball. Not sure why I picture that in my head, and I realize that's not how it would be... but that's what I think about every time people bring up the idea of an electronic strike zone.
