    Re: MLB Off-Topic

Something cool I saw, on google maps, you can use a streetview type thing(photosphere) inside ballparks. Unfortunately it's not available around the entire park, but even then, you can get real life shot inside stadium.

I know there's 1 or 2 main sites which does this for the entire stadium, but they don't have every stadium. It's nice to check out views of diff ballparks and when buying tickets, getting to check out views to see how it might look like watching game from something like section 125,row 12 vs section 138 row 4 or something like that.

As far as replays, I think two things need to come into play here: the dugout cannot make a phone call, and the penalty for being wrong must be "no mound conferences for the team's next three defensive outs."
      I can't listen to Byrnes....it's too annoying.

                Ouch.

And yes, exactly. I don't want a robot zone. I want to embarrass umpires.

Wouldn't surprise me if MLB adopted technology that allowed automatic balls/strikes to be detected (a buzzer system?), while allowing leeway for umpires to call balls and strikes on more borderline pitches.

Granted, that's years and years in the making.

I think pigs will grow wings before this happens. I'm all for getting these calls right but you need to leave a little bit discretion in the game. And the strike zone gives that it varies from ump to ump.

I want to keep pitch framing in the game. It's a fun element.

Maybe the ump should get an electric shock when he calls it wrong ...
