As much as I want to I don't put this on Kris. I think it's on Simon and whoever the acting manager was with Mac out. Kris pitched well, and as soon as he got in trouble he should have got yanked, espically in a 1-0 game. Plus Simon, how can not make that throw he had Alou dead at the plate.Comment

True, but good pitchers don't dominate the game and then blow it when your team finally gets you a lead.
Benson had pitched only 6 innings. And in those 6 innings, he had allowed only two baserunners. So I wouldn't have expected McKannin to have someone up in the pen to start the inning.“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. Re: Official 2004 Pittsburgh Pirates GameLog/Chat
Vogelsong has pitched great today. It's unfortunate that the Pirates just got hosed on an absolutely terrible call by the umps.
Ramirez hit what the umps thought was a HR, but the ball never left the damn field!!!! The ball hit the top of the ivy and did not go in the basket.
What a shame. Vogelsong deserves better than a no decision - especially on a BS call by the umps.Comment
