Yankees better not part with Chapman or Miller unless Torreyes and Schwarber is involved, no thanks on Vogelbach.

    Wouldn't mind Almora either.

So did Mattingly ruin him or something...or is it that pitchers finally figured out how to get him out and he hasn't adjusted?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

The league figured him out and he hasn't made any adjustments.

He peaked early. It's that simple.

Should have sold high on him when we still had the chance.

Theirs some news on Chapman and the Yankees. Apparently the Yankees are "going full bore in shaping possible deals" with Chapman. The article says executives who Buster Olney has talked to have said the Nationals, Rangers, and Indians are among the involved parties at this time.

I think Cashman overvalues Schwarber. He would be a nice fit at DH sure, but he provides little else.

I'd like to have him but not as the prime target.

Chapman for Candelario, Soler, and Vogelbach would be my proposal.

Over Theo's dead body. No way you get that kind of haul for a rental. Miller, maybe. Chapman, nope.

For Miller, Torreyes has to be involved in my eyes.

You already have Torreyes, don't you? Ronald "Ronnie" Torreyes is a former Cubs farmhand. Gleyber Torres is a current prospect and probably the guy you were thinking about.

Yes, for Miller, Gleyber has to be the centerpiece. You can have our Torreyes.

Any thought of Schwarber playing 1B somewhere if he isn't traded to an AL team? (Or DH/1B in the AL as well)

I would imagine that's where he ends up in the field

That's pretty much how I see it. With some work I think he could be a good 1B.

Not sure about that. Maybe he could be adequate and not hurt you too much there, but he's not flexible at all, which would hurt with picking/stretching/scooping. Also, he's only 6'0" which is on the short side for a 1B. Taller means can grab more high throws. Take a look at the heights of starting MLB 1Bs...you'll see they're all like 6'2" to 6'5". Slow, inflexible, short (for baseball) guys don't really profile well anywhere on defense.
