Wonder what the M's can get for Cieshek at the TD? Would really like to see Diaz as the closer this season to get him experience in the role going forward. He's been nasty since his call up.Green Bay PackersSeattle MarinersNew York Rangers

I'll believe it when it doesn't happen. These GM's are all posturing. You got the guy down in ATL saying their arguably 2nd best trade chip isn't going to be traded anytime soon.Comment

I do think it's a 50/50 shot whether Freddie gets moved. Guy has been on a TEAR past two months with a 1.098 OPS since the start of June and would command a high return however he's got a huge chunk of $$$ still owed to him thru 2021.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

I feel like he'll go to the Dodgers.
Wherever he goes, he needs to be in a flyball park because he does not induce a lot of grounders.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
I really don't know where the Cardinals go in terms of trading to make the team better and apparently neither does Moz. Our starting pitching has settled down, our offense has been productive this year. I guess if you want to look at something it could be the bullpen but we have arms in the minors that we could use in the pen for the 2nd half of the season.
The chances of us catching the Cubs are slim, but we are in the midst of a wildcard race. With that said, I really hope we don't sell the farm this year to just get into the playoffs. I know that doesn't sound right from a fan perspective, but we have a very bright future and I'd hate to sell that off for a chance to play in the playoffs.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

It's just I have no idea about StL's farm system and/or what the Yankees would ask for.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
The Cards should target Aroldis Chapman, considering their bullpen issues. If Rosenthal gets his act straightened out, they could pair him with Chapman plus Siegrist and Oh to give themselves a really nice bullpen. You ask Martinez, Wacha, and Wainwright to get you through 6 (or more) and leave it to those guys to end games for you. With that many quality hitters, offense isn't their problem.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Hrm, interesting from TSN.ca
Minnesota Twins starter Ervin Santana outdueled Sonny Gray of the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night in a two-hit, complete-game shutout and Toronto Blue Jays scouts were there to watch.
The San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports that the Jays were among a number of teams to have scouts on hand at Target Field. The Baltimore Orioles, Miami Marlins, St. Louis Cardinals and the World Series champion Kansas City Royals also had representatives in attendance to watch the matchup between two pitchers who could have new homes come August 1's non-waiver trade deadline.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
