    Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread

The Ms actually have a pretty bad farm system that has fallen quite a lot due to their inability to develop players under Jack Z. Their drop off in the rankings has been pretty shocking from a couple of years ago when a Stanton trade seemed more plausible.

Let the dangling of prospects begin for Chapman and Miller.

Miller will get the better return.

I just read a little blurb suggesting the White Sox should trade Chris Sale. I think it makes sense as that team got considerably older over the course of this season and it would be a good way to rebuild as i'm sure Sale could get you a really good prospect or two.

What are the prospects of this actually happening?

Red Sox checked in on the Marlins Jose Fernandez and were met with Bogaerts and Betts as the asking price. Boston moved on.

That's just laughable. I can see them asking for one, but both? The Red Sox wouldn't deal either, but for Fernandez the Marlins were going to make an outrageous attempt to win that deal.

Marlins don't want to trade Fernandez. They wont unless they get the farm from a team obviously.

Oh yeah, they have no reason to. They are first in the wild card, and he is still under control. It would literally take our "big 3" and a MLB guy like Eduardo Rodriguez (even though he's been meh in his return) plus.

In my eyes Xander and Moncada are untouchable. Mookie for Fernandez, I would consider, but definitely not both.

If they could net a few high grade prospects, I think trading Sale would make alot of sense.

You're getting Moncanda and Mookie Betts mixed up there. No way the Sox deal Mookie right now. Yoan is way more likely.

Sale's really the only consistently good thing about that team; I wouldn't deal him until his ludicrously cheap contract is almost up.

The White Sox have problems that run deeper than getting some prospects for Sale. I think they need new leadership in the front office and a new approach with someone who can take on the prospect of going through some really bad rebuilding years and taking the attendance hit. The Rick Hahn/Kenny Williams thing doesn't seem to be working out.

Every year, the White Sox front office rearranges the deck chairs by bringing in a new cast of veterans to try and "win the offseason" and paper over a farm system that's been bad for almost a decade now. Every year it doesn't work out.

Really? Moncada is looking like a bona-fide superstar in the making. I wouldn't part with him for anything.

But I think you could consider Fernandez for Mookie. Mookie is great, but if you could have a 1, 2 duo of Kid K and Price, that's definitely worth considering.

But this is all hypothetical of course, as I sure wouldn't part with Xander and Betts.

He's a very, very good prospect who has mashed A. We'll see how he keeps progressing, I will take MLB talent over prospects any day of the week.

I wouldn't consider Fernandez for Mookie. Betts plays about everyday and has more years of control.

And you're right there, hypotheticals are fun and all but I just don't see this one.

Well let me expand a bit further, If the Red Sox are win now, I think it's a good idea. But I agree long term, you keep Mookie, and I imagine he's become a fan favorite now.

Of course pitchers are so susceptible to injuries and Fernandez already has that history. But we all know how good he is.

I have a good feeling about Moncada, he's so young yes, but he's going to be a star.

Just for the hell of it, one more proposed trade idea, Mookie and a pitching prospect for Sale. That in my eyes would be quite intriguing.
