Means they're not confident that Andre Ethier is returning any time soon, although Bruce is such a lousy fielder that he might end up as a platoon partner to Adrian Gonzalez at 1B.

Well the Cubs swept the Reds most recently, so they're back to being the best team in baseball again. Until they lose another game and go back to worst.

Edit: And Toscano going to LA with Norris in a Braves salary dump.

That Toscano signing was horrible so I'm sure it's a bit of a relief being we're still paying for released Bourn and Swisher.

This Dirks kid seems intriguing...former Braves pitcher they traded to LAD for extra slot money in the draft. His slash line looks good in AA the past couple of years.

Pfeifer walks too many guys (6+ per 9? that's Carlos Marmol territory) and is nowhere close to being in the majors.
