Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Return for Hill was Aaron Wilkerson and Wendell Rijo.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Rijo was our #17 prospect. And Wilkerson was performing well in AAA and AA. I hadn't heard of him before the trade. But I guess there were some people calling for him to get some starts where our starters are trash. In AAA & AA he went 6-3 with a 2.14 ERA with 102 K's and 25 walks in 17 games with 16 starts. And in AAA he went 4-2 with a 2.44 era, 54 K's and 11 walks in 9 games and 8 starts and 48 innings pitched.
And here's the scouting report from MLB.com:
SpoilerThough Rijo tore the ACL in his right knee in March 2012, the Red Sox still signed him for $575,000 out of the Dominican Republic as soon as he became eligible four months later. He grew up around the game as the son of Rafael Rijo, a former player and scout who's now an outfield instructor with the White Sox, and it showed. Wendell held his own as the only 19-year-old regular in the Class A Advanced Carolina League last year, but he struggled with the move up to Double-A in 2015, ultimately receiving a demotion back to Salem. This July, the Red Sox traded Rijo, along with Aaron Wilkerson, to Milwaukee in exchange for veteran Aaron Hill.
Rijo has an interesting package of offensive tools for a second baseman. He has a quick right-handed bat and barrels balls, showing the potential to hit for a solid average with lots of doubles and double-digit home run totals once he adds strength. He has the ability to work counts but sometimes gets caught up trying to do too much and overstrides at the plate.
A plus runner before he got hurt, Rijo now has closer-to-average speed that plays up on the bases and in the field because he has good instincts. He can steal a few bases and covers ground at second base, where club officials noted he did a better job of paying attention to detail after Boston signed Yoan Moncada. Now with the Brewers, Rijo could develop into an offensive-minded regular at second base.

Sounds like Brewers will probably call up Wilkerson at some point this season... Cant wait to see what he has.Last edited by The Kid 24; 07-08-2016, 04:42 PM.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Nice. Another Diamondbacks (Hill a former) coming to Boston! Didn't give up much for Brad Ziegler, and I'm excited to have his funky arm in our bullpen. Gives us another late option which is really nice.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

I've always thought Ziegler was really underrated. I think he'll do well at Fenway with his extreme groundball rate.Comment

Teheran got hit hard fairly hard on Saturday and his previous start versus Miami.
Gosh, Atlanta! Don't waste your chance to get that A-level prospect!!Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
There were 18 scouts at an Arizona League game in surprise over the weekend. 4 of them were scouts in the Brewers organization which would suggest Texas is working on a possible Jonathan Lucroy trade and maybe another move.Comment
