Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
I dunno, Sale has a lot of term left AND one of the cheapest deals for a guy of his talent. The Sawx need SP pretty badly if they want to win it all this year but yeah, I can see where Betts is an untouchable. The guy has totally blossomed into a very reliable bat.
It's not an idea that has to be laughed at but rather if I were Dombrowski i'd try to steer the conversation towards other players/prospects.
Mookie= MVP candidate. Also the reports going around are Mookie, Benintendi, plus. So yea bahahahahahahahahaha

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
It's certainly debatable but the Yankees are arguably a top 5 farm system now, I don't think that's a stretch. That seemed impossible a few years ago.
Miller would bring assets in, that would launch us to the top of the farm systems, right behind the Cubs.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Yankees did a good job with the acquisition and sell off of Chapman. They might get something decent for Beltran, but after that I believe they will call it a day.
I wonder if the Tigers could work out a deal around Anibal Sanchez + prospects for Melvin Upton. Maybe he could help get Justin Upton going, plus we could use depth for injuries since I think Gose is done here. They should also be looking for reasonably priced arms for this and next season. I doubt the Tigers will do any selling, unless there is an overwhelming offer on one of the players. If they are too far out of it by the end of the August, maybe they could get some value out of K-rod.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Kershaw and Sale together, is that fair? Jesus.
The best right hander, and left hander in the game, one team. Help us all.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
The first half of the post and the second half are unrelated. We're happy about what we got not because we ripped off the Cubs, more because we ripped off the Reds and got our new top prospect (according to mlb.com) for a 2 month rental.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

When I drink, sometimes I think David Ortiz is a switch hitting shortstop.

Personally I'm not worried about it. I honestly would like to keep Urias, but Sale and Kershaw would be awesome.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
A first look at Pineda's stats and you may be disgusted. But his last 7 games he has a 0.91 whip, 3.72 era, and 52 so's.
Not to mention a solid pitching performance so far tonight.
His trade stock is definitely improving, and has to be enticing.
