Great, so 2 guys in 10+ years and one guy who had a nice month last year. That's still awful.

It's certainly debatable but the Yankees are arguably a top 5 farm system now, I don't think that's a stretch. That seemed impossible a few years ago.

Miller would bring assets in, that would launch us to the top of the farm systems, right behind the Cubs.

Prospect rankings don't mean squat. They're like recruiting rankings in college football.

Yeah, maybe that's the reason he didn't play tonight?

It's a bit of a weird trade unless they want to sacrifice defense and have Encarnacion play 1B the rest of the way with Smoak being the clearly defined backup and Upton is the DH/4th OF. Either way, because Upton is still under team control it pretty much means either Bautista or Saunders are gone next season.

Lol tell that to the Cubs. That's the business model, every team should model.

The haul for Miller would be out of this world. The Yankee brain trust should at least listen to offers.

Ignoring the low-hanging joke to be made here, you do realize starters are yanked much earlier in the playoffs, right? I'm quite sure that at least once in the playoffs, you'll see something like, Stop 6, Rondon 7, Chapman 8 and 9. This is a great way to avoid the third time through order decline starters see and to maximize the skill used relative to the leverage of the situation.

Or you could jump right to conclusions about me not being a TRUE FAN of a team I specified I was a part time fan of, which is mostly because of my trip to Wrigley.

Nice clutch knock from Rizzo just now, though.

Make your joke if it makes you feel superior. You made a ridiculously hyperbolic comment after casting yourself as a "fan". It made you look as though you had no knowledge of the rest of the Cubs bullpen pieces.

And that Montgomery trade is looking ****ty so far.

Will be interesting to see how this Upton stuff plays out for Jays. Either him or Bautista will be DH after the deal. Maybe Bautista/EE split time between 1B and DH?

But Upton deal definitely could be signal that Bautista is gone after this year. Saunders will be much cheaper option to keep, and they'd probably go with a Saunders,Pillar,Upton OF.

Melvin Upton Jr. Expected to be traded within the next 24-48 hours. Padres to make the call tomorrow between Toronto and Baltimore.

Don't suppose Padres want to include Buchter in the deal?

And if Padres don't want to retain Upton's 2016 salary, they could always take Drew Storen off Jays hands...

Cubs fans are feeling the pressure of being the #1 target for every team in the league for the first time in their lives?

Hopefully Upton gets traded to Toronto. Much closer to my ultimate dream of banishing that ******* to Nunavut for the rest of his days.

Storen for Upton deal...that'd be a fun one.
