    *Scheduled Mookie Betts post*

Saw 13 pitches before hitting a grand slam. Most pitches seen before hitting a Grand Slam since Gary Scott on April 20, 1992.

Nice Gary Scott reference. I'd like to see that followed with some references to Jerome Walton, Kevin Orie, Bobby Hill, David Kelton, Tyler Houston, or maybe even Mike Harkey.

EDIT: How could I leave out Brooks Kieschnick?

I plagiarize all my interesting stats. If he tweets anything about those players, I'll definitely share.

Happ in what could be his final start with the Jays (for now, as he expressed interest in returning to the Jays after this year), allowed 5 runs, but 0 of them were earned. Doesn't sound like a statline which happens so often.

What's been happening with the Angels and their injuries is rivaled only by what's happened with the Packers and Texans with injuries in recent years. It's incredibly frustrating.

How can these guys even be expected to compete with all of this happening? It's impossible. Get rid of the training staff. I don't think Scioscia is as much of a problem as others think. I actually feel like they'd be even worse without him. He's stabilizing if anything.

But yeah, I don't know. These injuries are ridiculous. And it's unfair to the sports world that we don't get to see Trout in the playoffs every year. But hey, baseball doesn't work like that and I'm glad it doesn't.

Red Sox have a 10-game winning streak, they're on pace to go 113-49, and for the first time ever (and the first team since the 1977 Angels) have 4 pitchers with 10+ wins before the Break.

37 games over .500 for the first time since 1949, three 8+ game winning streaks for the first time since 1978.

Chris Sale has the most strikeouts through 200 starts in MLB history, passing Pedro.

This season is fun. Can't wait to get dropped in the ALDS.

Ugh, way too much Sawx love in this thread this season LOL

Here's hoping Borucki can continue his great pitching and snap that 10 game win streak.

113 wins?! Dang, I didn't realize they've been that good. If a couple things break right, they could even tie the 116 win record. As a Yankees fan, of course, I'm rooting against that, lol. It'll be a fun second half, watching to see how the two teams fare.

Bay Bridge series starts tonight. 3 in SF before the break and then 3 in Oak after. All the talk around here is who it is more important for.

So I'll ask OS this, would you rather your team be 4th in your division and 3 behind 1st place or 5 games back of the WC with nobody to leap and nobody at your heels?

4th. 2nd and/or 3rd are probably WC teams, so you got a shot there too. And you control your own fate. Win divisional games and you're in.

Not that I disagree, but don't the A's have a ton of games left against Seattle? They sort of control their own fate as well....although they have to face a better opponent.

                          10 I think.

They all control their own fate. Seattle and the 3 teams ahead of the Giants too.

Preach. I know this is off topic, but this is a big reason why I've stopped watching pro football for the most part. God knows there are plenty of other reasons also, but seeing Green Bay trot out its entire practice squad team by week 3 is a huge turnoff.

I'd rather be in 1st place in the AL Central so I could rest my entire roster for the final 70 games of the season. Time for Cleveland to start setting up its playoff rotation, no?

Cardinals head the break with 3 in Cincinnati against the Reds. A sweep would really be nice.

Although on the flip side if we get swept we can be sellers at the deadline.

Fowler, Cecil, Norris, or Holland anyone???
