Simple that? "Sure man, you're our closer... Unless you stink..." Lol.

And don't get how the Cubs wouldn't trade for him/guarantee him the closer spot either given that it's not like they have an option lined up right now.

Porter Hodge was good down the stretch last year for the Cubs and he is just 23, could the closer for a long time. Hodge's shadow will be hovering over Pressly. Tiger's closing situation is more of a mess, Foley's numbers are superficially good and Holton is better as a multi-inning guy.

Should open the path for Bregman to be back. Odd to me they want to commit long term to Bregman when they trade Pressly , traded Tucker

Right, forget Pressly and Bregman, Tucker is the guy to keep. Their loss.

Someone ought to break it to him the Cubs are one of the few teams that don't need a closer right now. They had like the sixth fewest saves last season, lol.

Apparently Sasaki was supposed to get Tommy John surgery a few years ago but didn't, but rushed to get to the MLB because you never know what the future holds....

So how long before he winds up injured?

April. Right about the same time as Shohei.

While there should be owners with trouble keeping up with the big spenders, a New York team should not be amongst them.
