Here's my take on Mark McGwire. I don't mind him not answering questions but he could've done so in a much more dignified manner. He could've said "I respectfully decline to make comment" or something to that effect. Sure a lot of people would think he's guilty then but at least he wouldn't look like an arrogant arse.

His opening statement was quite telling and I could tell that the congressmen/women (not senators ppl) were starting to get exasperated. I think if McGwire was at least a little more co-operative things would've gone much more smoothly for him. Curt Schilling looked a little bad too by giving cooked answers and such but at least he was willing to give a little.

The most telling thing about the whole ordeal for McGwire was when he was asked how he even got into andro in the first place. It wasn't illegal then and if McGwire is as innocent as he claims he could've at least told them what got him into using andro. Instead by declining the way that he did it made it look like andro was a progression from the crude method of anabolic injections.

I dont think it would have gone more smoothly for him. If he would have given an inch they would have tried to take a mile. There was a couple of times when they tried as it was.

i dont care what anyone said to me until someone has real good evidence that sosa did steroids I ain't gonna believe it before that june of 1998 no one said anything bout sosa he was never mention to use steroids he had 13 homeruns before that june then he hit 20 in that month, i dont know why people can't hit homeruns automatic he did that and he broke the record everyone got on him why its beyond me, before big mac hit in 1998 there was still lil talks bout him using roids in oakland, i just think players could get a break out year. before 1998 sosa starting breaking out in 1993 hitting home runs, in 93' he had 33, then 25, then 36, then 40, where he only played 124 i thinkin if he play all 162 or even up to 160 he would had hit 50 was he using steroids then? then the next year he hit 36 again in 1998 when he turn 29 many call that the prime of players career that 28-32 years he hit 66 then 63 then it went down to 50 then 64 and from then it has gone down so it been almost 4 years since that and that happen when he was 32 after that his totals have decreased to 49 to 40 and then 35 from last season, so i think sosa just was in his prime when he hit those home runs.

it's like that for almost every home run hitter

Hank Aaron from age 28-32 hit 189 homeruns
Jim Thome from age 28-32 hit 218 homeruns
Ken Griffey jr from age 28-32 hit 174 homeruns( and he was injuried two of the years just imagine if he wasnt injuried)
Willie Mays hit 220 from those years

so its pretty much the same and its not like mcgriwe, mac was way older then sosa when he hit 70 so you can tell he was on roids, sosa to me was just in his prime

If you want to say MLB is in on this then ok, whatever but when that happened they confiscated all his bats and examined them. Plus there were the bats that were in cooperstown (and perhaps other places) that were xrayed. And as far as your joke about speaking English is concerned, Im sure it was a successful appeal to the LCD out there.
