The San Francisco Giants slugger also said he was physically and mentally "done," and blamed the media for at least part of his troubles.

"I'm tired of my kids crying. You wanted me to jump off a bridge, I finally did," Bonds told reporters Tuesday, shortly after returning to training camp. "You finally brought me and my family down. ... So now go pick a different person."

Sitting at a picnic table outside the Giants' clubhouse with his 15-year-old son, Nikolai, at his side, Bonds said, "My son and I are just going to enjoy our lives. You guys wanted to hurt me bad enough, you finally got me."

Bonds said he was tired and disappointed following a winter in which he was accused of steroid use, his grand jury testimony was leaked and he had two knee operations.

All I can say is: BOO-FRIGGIN-HOO. He brought it ALL on himself. I won't be shedding any tears over a multi-gazillionaire who is mad because he got caught cheating. When you are shattering records left and right, and then it turns out you're a big fat cheater, of course the media is going to destroy you. And he deserves it. Players like Bonds are destroying the integrity of the game, and the only way steroid use will be curbed is when a) More high-profile players are caught and humiliated publically and b) Players start dying in their 50's, from all the steroid and amphetamines.

Bonds destroying the integrity...ehhh...sorta...but the game comes back from everything.. (Rose, BlackSox). I never liked the guy personally....respect him for what he does at the plate roids or not. Id take him on my team... Deserving, hard to say im half way on that.

I think it would have taken the game ALOT longer to recover (attendance and fan base wise) from the 1994 strike if Sosa and McGwire didn't get in the media phrased 'Homerun/Steroid Race.' Everyone from Grounds Crew to GM's knew of roids and IMO they NEEDED it to get the game back from the wonderful 1994 Selig F@#$-up... So you cant blame bonds or the rest totally but they do deserve some flak

This is why I don't get into these discussions, because people already have a predetermined opinion of how things are.

No kidding, now all of a sudden people are bringing taxes up like hes been cheating the government now, it seems like people hear what ESPN or their local sports station says, and they take it as fact, unless of course it conflicts with their own preconceived opinion on a person or subject.

That is the biggest joke. your entitled to your rose colored opinion however naive it may be. The man took steriods. Clear and cream were steriods. Theres no way you can tell me a first class athlete who depends on his body, nutrition and overall health to be a successful baseball player doesnt know what hes putting in his body. To me that would be like Gooden and Strawberry trying to say they took the white powder and the pipe and didnt know it was coke. get a grip.

Comparing what Gooden and Strawberry did to the entire debate on Bonds is the bigger joke, Gooden and Strawberry bought the cocaine on their own accord and made the active decision to use it, if what Bonds says is true then he was using something to help with his body, thinking it was one thing when in fact it was something totally different. I will repeat my stance on Bonds, I am NOT a Bonds lover, I personally cant stand the guy, but at the same time I do believe in due process, and furthermore I believe in not kicking a man when he is down, which is what the media keeps doing on a daily basis. Yet again, if it is proven that he knowingly took steroids then I am all for stripping him of his accomplishments, but until that time comes I refuse to speculate and then condemn a man based on those speculations. In regards to your comment about my rose colored opinion, Im not even totally sure what you meant by that, but I will say, yet again, guilty or not guilty, just wait for the evidence to come forth, there is absolutly no need to bash the man before its been proven. Telling me to get a grip is where you really started to step over that fine line, I never said the clear and the cream were not steroids, I understand fully what they are, we are not debating this, I am simply waiting to hear all the testimony in regards to whether or not he used these and other substances knowingly, thats all. You don't have to feel a damn thing about anybody, it's your prerogative. But to me, anybody who take pleasure in the fact that a man's family is hurting, regardless of the fact that some of it is brought on himself, is a punk, straight up.

No offence but stop kissing Barry's @ss already, never mid how Barry feel's, Oh I forgot it's all about Barry. Give me a break, what about the fans that do support him, he's just telling them just to kiss off too, sorry buddy but those hard working famliy's that's been paying Barry's salary for the last 16 years just get the cold shoulder, just because he's a freakin loser, I'm sorry but he doesn't owe Himself anything, he owe's those fans there respect and needs to get his @ss back out there as soon as possible. I fell no remorse for Barry Bonds at all or his famliy, heck there living like kings when us hard working fans pay to see him out there playing. I don't buy his crap at all.

Very clever, last post on this topic since it is getting more and more personal with every post by some people in here. You can say what you want, and I believe I have even seen you question Bonds entire operation saying he was doing this to dodge steroid testing because he is still juiced up. That is plain stupid, its not like when the Giants get tested they are going to say, " Ohh Bonds isnt here, looks like we cant test him", they will still test him whether or not he is on the injured list. Last point, you constantly talk like you take great joy in seeing him and or his family in the position they are in, as well as talk like they owe the fans to get back out there and play. Well, where do I begin, first off, I surely hope you are never in a position where you experience hardship, whatever it may be, because the last thing you should do is look for any help nor sympathy from anyone since you take such great joy in others misfortune. As to your comment that he owes the fans to get out there, he doesnt owe the fans anything, period. Contrary to popular opinion, entertainers are not there to please the audience at home, some may choose to do such because they think it will be beneficial to their carrer, but in no way do they owe it to us. If you are that disgusted with the salaries these people get then stop going to games and stop buying the merchandise.

Then what are they there for? I thought pleasing an audience was the whole point of entertainment. He does owe it to fans to get back out there as long as he is collecting a paycheck. He gets paid $18 million a year to get back out there and play.

I understand some of your points. There is a lot of hatred for Bonds that gets taken too far. My argument is, I don't hate Bonds, I hate those who cheat in a sport that I love. This includes Bonds, Giambi, McGwire or anyone else that is caught using steroids.
