Not trying to be an ***, but I'm loving Mark Loretta in Boston so far. He won it yesterday with a walk off and had another productive night tonight. He seems like a real professional hitter and has been smooth around the bag at second. Is this what we can expect all season?

When Mark Loretta is healthy, he is a consistent hitter.

Fenway park should help his slugging percentage, but does a great job with handling pitches. He knows when to turn on a fastball or when to wait on it and line it the other way if there is a man on first. He's great at moving runners up too. One of the best situational hitters and clutch hitters in the game. The injury to him last year really curtailed his offensive numbers and defensive ability, but nonetheless he is solid at second base... had a few gold-glove worthy years in San Diego.

That's the impression I've been getting. He isn't putting up spectacular numbers, but it seems like most of his hits have come in big situations, especially the last two days.

That's what M-Lo is good for. Eventually the numbers will start getting up there.

Yeah, he just hit a triple.

                  Great start to the game.

VINNY!!!!!!!!! Single.....3-4 Today with an RBI

                    Adrain Gonzalez = DOUBLE MACHINE....

edit: Ben Johnson is rising 2-5 with 4 RBIs today and that's exactly why they took the chance and sent down Sledge.

Pretty good pitcher's dual so far. Peavy's pitch count it pretty high though.

So far Dave Roberts has been doing much of the offensive attack this game.

Doug Mirabelli needs to go...He can't call a game no wonder why Boston only used him to catch Knuckleballs and spot start, Because guy is a joke behind the plate in terms of calling a game.

Yeah giving up Loretta for him was a brilliant move.

Just got back from the game. The whole Petco experience is frustrating beyond words, but then you throw in the crappy product the Padres put on the field and it's worse. PetCo is easily the poorest designed and planned out of all the "New/Old" stadiums, if you know what I mean. Too frustrated to post now, but I think that will probably be my last trip to that park for some time to come. The Padres will not see another dime from me for a while, for a myriad of reasons I will get in to when I am not this pissed off.

It was. It has given Barfield his chance to play everyday that he earned. But i had no idea Doug sucks at calling a game, You know it has to be something he is doing because when Piazza or Bowen are behind the plate the pitchers are yet to get rocked and then you put Doug back there...then it's like opening the doors to hell....NOW that is painful to watch.

yeah, but like I have said for the last 2 posts...half the blame goes on Doug. I am now on the side of what Bob Scanlan had to say about Doug on Mighty XX just like last week.
