Re: Official San Diego Padres Thread - 2006
This lineup needs more pop. What's the point of getting on-base if no one can get on base?
Would've been better if the Padres had acquired Freel as their third basemen when they had the chance.Comment

I don't know what Cameron can do...But, I do know that he is a far better OF then Nady will ever be. Who said Nady started off slow??? I said he started off fast last year and this year, He'll fade. I am glad that you hold Nady on this high pedestal that’s cool because he’s your boy and you are fan of him. I was a fan of his just like I was with Knott but, Nady has flaws in his swing and same with his Defense.
This Ballpark...has some how has put a fog into the hitters heads. They are professionals they shouldn't allow a park to attack them mentally.
Just because you think the Padres can do no wrong, does not make Nady a bad player. He certainly would beat out Roberts or Klesko. What has Klesko done the last 3 years what the hell has Roberts done? Not to mention how many extra bases does Roberts give up a year because of that arm of his. Roberts would be a 4th outfielder on most teams in major league baseball.
There's a reason the Padres are perenial doormats, this move is just another example of why.
Keep drinking the koolaide as if the Padres can do no wrong, but lets face it this team is not good, nor do they look like they will be much better in coming years.Comment

Really? Well where are they, because they haven't shown up for a Padre game either in Petco or on the road for going on 3 years now.
We do have one but, how about one of them actually DOING SOMETHING. They did good on the road. The Padres players play better away from PetcoThe DuCross Brothers: Sports Internet Talk Show

Originally posted by bkrich83Really, because I haven't seen a power hitter in this lineup for years.
Power hitters in the lineup:
Giles: Very Capable of hitting 20+ (use to have potential to hit 30 but, now he only cares about working the count to 3-2)
Cameron: 25+ Hrs
Piazza: 20+
Greene 15-20
Vinny: 15
Thats good enough. You don't need a 40+ Hr Hitter just to make your team good. The DuCross Brothers: Sports Internet Talk Show

We just don't have any big time legit RBI/Power guys in our lineup. This lineup is pathetic. But continue to make excuses for them.Last edited by bkrich83; 04-22-2006, 03:46 PM.Comment

Re: Official San Diego Padres Thread - 2006
BTW, when your team leading HR hitter has 18, and your RBI leader has 83, you really have no legit middle of the order hitters in your lineup no matter what park you hit in.
You think a Ryan Howard, Travis Hafner, Jeff Kent, Albert Pujols, Paul Konerko, Carlos Delgado type player would have 15-18 hr's and 70-80 RBI playing half their games in Petco? Doubtful, but those are the types of crappy numbers we're getting from the middle of our lineup.
LOL, Mike Cameron lifetime .249 hitter, who averages 22 homeruns and 140 strikeouts. Yeah our lineup is loaded with big time hitters.Comment

Its "PADRES" that can't hit in there ball park not outsiders.

It's called Petco Itis. He is also a player that has said it and hes the reason why they brought in the right centerfield wall to move in from 411 to 402Comment
