Strained oblique sucks too, it can take an entire season for it to truly heal.
True, I got nothing to add to that.

The Giants also have a much better track record than the Padres do, and Barry Bonds and Moises Alou two of their 40's have put up better numbers than anyone on the Padres or anyone the Padres have signed for a better portion of the last decade.

Another kid I don't think got a fair shake, Xavier Nady, off to a 4 for 4 start with a couple of Doubles for the Mets.

Lets see what he does for the rest of the season, because I saw him have a few games with the Pads where he showed that he might be coming around but never did.

How can you say that? He never had the opportunity to show that he could, not to mention it was only his first full season in the bigs.

If he can crack the Mets lineup, then he sure as hell could crack ours.

Considering his competition was Victory Diaz, Nady should've easily cracked the lineup.

Plus, he pulled the same thing last year in Colorado. He was granted the starting job at first base when Nevin was traded, but threw the job away. He had his shot and screwed it up.

So when did 326 ab's become his shot. Rags I know you feel obligated to defend all things Padres.but .261 13 hr's, 15 2b's and 43 RBI in 326 ab's is not bad. Especially for such a young player, hitting in a pitchers park.

I would have a different opinion on Nady if he had proved he was worth the playing time, but he had a couple of good series, the opening series and a series in June last season. Out of those 13 home runs, 4 came in April, with half of them on the opening series and 5 came in June. He hit poorly when he was given the job at first base. He never adjusted to the pitcher's changing approaches at him and if he were doing that he would be a successful major league, but he's had that problem in the Majors since 2003, granted he did not play much in 2004. Now if he was hitting well in the opportunities he was given last year or if he looked better at the plate then I wouldn't have noted that he did the same thing last year (and in this season's spring training, where more than half of his RBI's came from).

Don't be fooled by his numbers, more often than not he looked overmatched at the plate against the Zach Day's of the world.

And this has nothing with me defending the Padres.

I did watch Nady last year. And definitely saw that talent is there. And yes it has everything to do with you defending the Padres. You'll do it at all costs.

Peavy is dealing already. He's as filthy as any pitcher in baseball.

Piazza crushed that ball. The man still gets extension. Hopefully he stays healthy.

Hopefully Gonzalez can show more of that.

A-Gon was coming around in ST so hopefully if he can keep his stroke...He could be something.
