Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
So when are the Giants going to try and go to another pitcher to close out games instead of Armando? It's frustrating.NBA 2K11 My Player: 6'11 Athletic Center/PF 58ovr Rockets

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
Man how many games have we lose in the late innings in the last 3 years. I don't care what other people think. I blame Brian Sab. He signed Armando and traded away one of the best closer right now. Yes I know they didn't think Joe would be good, but come on someone has to pay for that decision and Sab should be gone. Also, they need to just let Armando go, just release him and have Russ close.Comment

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
i hear you, they should have dumped his *** last yr. when he was blowing all those saves, even this yr when he was 7 for 7 in save opportunities just about everyone was a nail biter, i'd take anyone in the giants pen over him, maybe give ortiz a shot he couldn't do any worse.Comment

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
Is it just me or does Ortiz being a closer scare anyone else? Man, he's just like Benitez, he gets himself in way too much trouble, although he managed to get himself out of jams tonight. It's disappointing because we knew Nathan was good as he pitched 79 innings w/ 83K's and a sub 3ERA the season before getting dealt. They did so again with Accardo that had an electric fastball and showed signs he could get the job done, plus he's in his mid 20's. All this for another washed up vet. The only thing that can get worse is if Lincecum or Cain were dealt... but our history shows that one of them probably will be.I do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can'tComment

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
The time has officially come. If Benitez isn't gone by 7:00 ET tomorrow night, it's time to clean house in the front office. There is no excuse for Sabean to say that we don't want to throw away $7.5 million after just recently handing out the most ******** contract in major league baseball to Zito. As a matter of fact, it would be more valuable to spend twice what we owe him this year to designate him for assignment than keeping him on the team to close out ballgames.
By the way, is it only a mere coincidence that Bonds sits out the games that are on ESPN?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
While Sabean gets a lot of the blame, I still don't understand how a manager can still send out Benitez in these situations. Felipe was just old so I figure he was senile but I thought Bochy would have the common sense to come in and realize Blownitez sucks and would thus use a closer by committee deal or something. Anything but Blownitez would tolerable.
Bochy needs to realize the Giants don't have a reliever good enough to close so go with a committee. Send out who ever is hot or matches up well against the 3 due up. I don't care if he makes way too much money, don't play him! They pay him to get W's but if he's causing the team to rack up L's then dump him or let him ride the bench.Comment

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
thing is alou was sending him out to close as well last yr so i'm thinking the manager maybe has been told that he is the closer and i'm thinking that sabean is the guy doing the telling, dump his *** as well as benitez, everytime i watch benitez attempting to close a game i somehow keep waiting for him to pull out a voodoo doll or dead chicken, lol, anyone else see this guy as being a brick short of a load.Comment

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
Yeah that sucks!Any ways I hate Armando and Sab. They both can go. It is time for Sab to go and start new. I wouldn't trade anyone this years and just sign some good hitters next year and get a good reliever and if you can get a great closer!

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
Why didn't you guys bring in Benitez in the 9th? Isn't he your closer?
Great game by Zito, I can't be mad at him. That curve was dancing all night.Comment

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
the giants need a big bopper at 1st and a good closer then they would be pretty well set, at least for this yr., wonder if there are any trade talks going on regarding morris, i'd sooner it be him than lowry that would get traded.Comment

Great job to give the Mets their first shutout of the season. Pedro, keep it up! And anyone else loving what Benji Molina has been doing all season? Dude is a silent MVP.NBA 2K11 My Player: 6'11 Athletic Center/PF 58ovr Rockets

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
Yeah Molina has been money all year, it's too bad that he's one of the slowest people in the league. Good to see Zito put up another stellar start after getting wrecked in oakland and colorado. Hopefully he can carry it on. Cain tomorrow probably means that a limited amount of runs will be scored.I do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can'tComment

Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants
Yup, the offense once again is non existant for Cain. Both pitchers got in trouble early and Cain once again did not have much control. Anyhow, on better news... Benitez is supposedly traded back to the Marlins barring a balk. We'll probably get a bag of chips in return after that horrendous melt down. I don't know why the Marlins would want him back since Gregg has been money. I'm assuming Hennessey will step in to close unless the Marlins decided to give up on one of their RP like Tankersly or Owens then its up in the airI do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can'tComment
