Yup great points remix. It's frustrating. Who knows what would've happened to Sabean if the Giants never got as far as they did in 02'. He might not even be the GM today. It's bout time for a shakeup, somewhere.

I have been saying that the last two years, I am tired of Brian. It is time to leave and move on and the team needs to sign some young players.

Well Zito has been bad, but he is 27 and it is a huge contact, so that could be some problems. I think he will have a better second half.

        Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants

According to the AP, the Giants and general manager Brian Sabean are closing in on a multiyear contract extension.

The real question... why? I get it, he made the world series in 2002, made some nice acquisitions, but at the same time made some horrendous ones. We haven't made the postseason since 2003. Sorry, but this is a game of 'what have you done for me lately?' For Sabean, nothing much.

I heard someone call into KNBR and said to Damon Bruce that Sabean probably still has a job because the Giants still manage to draw fans. So the Giants owners see that even though they are playing like crap they still put butts in the seats. Damn it sucks that it's a business but that seems to be like alot of other sports teams in the U.S. these days.

Well I just heard they sign him again! Oh well, maybe he can get it right next year.

I hate how we chant 'BEAT LA'. It should be more in the lines of 'SCORE A RUN'. Now we have to deal with Sabean and his lie to the casual fan. Did he honestly believe Zito was the answer? No, just a cop out for missing on free agents that passed us by and a way to draw in a 'big' name that has declined the past 4 years prior to arriving and becoming our ace of a fifth starter. These last few days i wondering if ARod was worth 30mil+ to us. The answer is yes. Hell, go ahead and give him half the payroll because we can't score a run. I mean with him at least if we are last place he'd still produce as seen in Texas. Oh and why dont we start Fred Lewis? Besides Bonds, he's one of the few Giants that are actually fun to watch.

Yeah, but this team needs for than him. The sad thing is we have such a great record when we score 4 runs or more. 4 runs, that is all we need and we can't even get that. They need to get A Rod and A. Jones or Hunter. Then I will be happy. I still think Zito will be fine. He is only 27 and still getting to know the league.

                    Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants

I don't think it's about Zito getting to know the league, it's more about him not being able to locate anything. A guy like him that doesn't have any high fastball depends on location. It's constantly 1-0, 2-0.. 85MPH fastball middle end, gameover. There's always him not giving in and just walking everyone as seen in that Reds game where he walked the bases loaded and two more, all in the same inning.

Speaking of struggles... Bonds. Our lone bat that's been somewhat decent, but at the same time our major problem. These last two games he's grounded into 3 DP's and left 9 on base. I don't have any stats, but our three most productive bats (Bonds Durham Molina) probably lead the league in grounding into the most DP's.

Oh and the Dodgers top of the order manhandle us Furcal Pierre Martin and Kent rake. Don't know why that dude Tsao or whatever was brought in instead of Broxton. The game could've been over with an hour earlier.

What streak do we have going?

Bonds is ripping himself a new one for his recent performance. He also knocked over a laundry cart in the clubhouse lol. I think I also heard the game he hit into two DP's was the first time that has happened to him since 1991. Personally I've never seen Bonds swing so hard and look so bad at the plate, that record is probably the blame.

"It's an embarrassment for me to be wearing this (bleeping) uniform, the way I'm performing," he said after angrily telling television crews to turn off their cameras.

Yeah Bonds is under alot of pressure right now, even more so with the Homerun record so close.

Even so, it doesn't matter if he's 1 for his last 24 or if he's hit a homer every one of his last 24 games... he is always just as lethal at the plate. That said, he should have made a pinch-hit appearance in the ninth tonight. I blame Bochy for not putting him in. If it's on Bonds, I blame him. We needed a chance, and he is always the best chance.
