    Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants

Great performance by Lincecum, huge confidence boost though he didn't get the win. He's struggled mightily the entire month of June, but with Molina back to catching him I think it made a huge difference. A bit surprised that the Padres didn't bring in Hoffman in the 11th as he would have faced our best chance at winning; get through that part of the order and you buy your offense another inning or two of batting imo. These last three games have definitely shown a Giants team that hasn't been there all season. We actually cameback and got the timely hit... now only if Zito could actually pitch like a $126mil pitcher

      Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants

So Zito pitches a nice game making 1 mistake late, but here come the Giants and their inability to drive in a run. I really don't see why every team doesn't take note here - pitch around Bonds and you will win. We had the table set time and time again and probably ended up leaving about 20 guys on base. We simply have no rbi guys. When our best bet is Molina, that's not going to get it done. Bonds only gets something to hit with the bases empty and the Durham of the second half of last year is nowhere to be found.

Worst offense in majors. To add to that, we don't draft position players, only pitchers.

Damn still no run support for Cain!, err no offense at all for any pitcher.

Anyways, I'm happy for tonight. My brother suprised me for my 26th b-day by getting tickets to tonight's game vs. the D-backs. This will be my very first game at AT&T park (yes, surprisingly)!!!!. . Can't wait to see Bonds live for the first time, and Matt Morris has been very good this season. YESSSSSSSSSS!

Hope you had a nice birthday man. It would've been perfect if Dave Roberts could actually catch a fly ball. These Giants position players have better been taking out their pitchers for dinner each night.. I'd love to know why we signed this guy to be our centerfielder.. absolutely horrible. Tell me why we didn't sign Byrnes when he was a FA a few years back and even said he wanted to play for the Giants since he grew up as a huge fan. I always liked what he did when I saw him with the A's and now we all get to see him dominate

remix, thanks man! We think way too much alike, probably like most other Giants fans as well. Byrnes was a damn great player for the A's, I love his scrappiness. I can't believe the f'n Giants didn't sign him either, instead they got Winn later on.

Man tonight was off the hook! Saw some great stuff man, lots of memorable moments. Klesko pounded a homer into McCovey cove, for splash hit #44. Dave Roberts, why did they sign him again? He dropped that one ball that he had in his glove that allowed 2 runs to score. Klesko makes a damn nice sliding catch on a pop fly that went way over his head. Oh yeah and some crazy fan jumps onto the field to hug and kiss Barry. LMAO!! And Bonds actually hugged him back. I thought that guy was going to kill Barry or something. Craziness. And then Bonds hits #750!!!!!!!! DAMN THAT WAS AN AWESOME FEELING! The whole crowd went nuts, and it feels great chanting "Barry, Barry, Barry!!"!!!

I was at that game as well. We got to see a historic moment as Bonds get closer, but man it gets tough to always watch our bullpen blow games. I agree awesome plays throughout the game until Roberts error. I'm glad you had fun bro.

People aren't kidding about how nice AT&T Park is. It is really beautiful, and it doesn't matter wherever you are viewing the game from; you'll see the game nicely. I can't believe it took me this long to finally see the Giants at AT&T. I've been missing out for way too long.

The 9ers should be next in line for me. I have not been to Candlestick for almost 10 years now, ever since William Floyd got injured against the Saints.

Speaking of Candlestick, the ticket prices are getting more and more expensive, though very understandable. We could sure use a new stadium or some type of refurbished one. My family has been season ticket holders since the early 80's and it still has the same feel(not that it's bad). Can't go wrong with the garlic fries and a good game... at both places

Yeah AT&T is a beautiful ballpark and Candlestick (still candlestick to me) needs a major makeover. Even though I'd like for them to stay in SF and with all of that talk about moving to Santa Clara, they deserve to have a new one built for them no matter where it is. Come on now we've won 5 Superbowls!!!

Anyways back to the Giants.....How bout Lincecum's performance today? 12K's!!!

That was definitely the best we've seen on Lincecum. He was absolutely rolling. It's strange how he was called up and not until his last start against SD did he actually face the NL-West. So far so good. Last two starts 14IP 7H 20k 4BB 0ER. I guess he didn't get docked by some with a nickname of "The Franchise" for nothing. The potential is surely there

So at the break we're looking pretty hopeless sitting 10.5 games back from first. We have had some bright spots.. and not so bright spots.
                                • Lincecum recovered from a rough spell and shows he can pitch here
                                • Cain hasn't gone ballistic because the team can't score a run for him.
                                • Zito had bust written all over him. His deal reminded me of Mike Hampton's and we all know how that story ended. His 4.90ERA and 1.45WHIP proves the point. We could've had someone like Correia do something similar for $125mil cheaper
                                • At least we got rid of Benitez?
                                • Bengie Molina was our best addition, even if he is slower than dirt
                                • Bonds has stayed healthy and gives a reason to watch the Giants bat
                                • Winn/Robers combine for 35RBI's, don't get on base enough and can't field...
                                • Klesko/Feliz account for 17HR and 64RBI. Both are horrible at hitting with RISP. Actually, Feliz is bad all the time batting .234 to begin with. We probably have the worst corners in the majors.
                                • Durham/Vizquel account for 10HR and 68RBI with a combined avg of somewhere around .240. Vizquel has been decent defensively, though nothing compared to last year. He already has 5 errors, 1 more than all of last season. He also showed he couldnt handle being at the top of the order.
                                • Ever since we lost Matt Williams, we've never replaced him at the corner spot. We never replaced Jeff Kent's big bat either.
                                • Bonds deserves every penny he's earning right now. Some say he should've taken a huge paycut to help the team, but why? To give $126mil to Zito? All these years with a subpar team around him, I've yet to hear him come out and complain. He goes on and does his business
                                • There's always a chance that we can ruin the Dodgers shot at October. I mean since it's July, it means it's time for Brad Penny to burn down. Looking at his last start, he's on his usual pace.
                                I do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can't
