I realize it cuts both ways. Thats actually what I was pointing out. But who's to say Ramirez doesnt have the green light to swing regardless?

The Cubs signed Reed Johnson this morning I like this signing but now what are they going to do with Murton. I'm sure he's going to be used as some kind of trade bait

Thats why I'm saying its a bad idea for Soriano to hit directly ahead of a guy like Ramirez. If Ramirez takes some fast balls so Soriano can steal its going to hurt Ramirez in the long run, but if he doesn't take enough pitches early in the count Soriano isn't going to be able to run near as much.

Both examples are going to hurt the team in the long run. That why I think its a bad idea.

Although like I said in my previous post's, this all depends if Soriano gets back to his old form and Lou gives him the green light on a consistent basis.

MacPhail is saying that Roberts more then likely will not be traded before opening day. I really want Roberts to get traded to the Cubs. He will be the perfect as a leadoff man for them and definately an upgrade to DeRosa. Hopefully it will happen before opening day.

I want Roberts on the team but with McPhail and Angelos not wanting to budge on their demands I don't see it happening. I am glad Hendry isn't clearing the cupboards and isn't willing to get fleeced like Houston did in acquiring Tejada.

But Roberts sure would look great in that lead off spot, then they would be able to move Soriano down in the order where he belongs. Oh well! we will see what happens between now and the start of the season.

No, not if the idea of Ramirez seeing more fastballs is so he has more pitches to drive, ie extra base hits, in which case Soriano would score more often than not. Why waste those fastballs on a 2 hole hitter who A) cant drive the ball like Ramirez and B) is trying to bunt or move Soriano over.

Opening Day has finally arrive, hopefully the current weather conditions, aren't an indication of how the season is going to be.

I'm at work watching the pitch for pitch gamecast of the game on my computer so I didnt see what happened to Zambrano.

                      Was the injury serious?
