Fielder hesitated and just paid for not being able to get Pie out.

overall good game today, cold...wet, and rainy. Both teams couldnt hit until the end and Sheets and Big Z both looked great. I wish we could have won, but a lot fo good signs today...other than Pie looking like a tool at the plate and the bullpen faltering a bit. Defense looked good, some timely hitting in the 9th, Dersoa hit the ball hard and Lee driving the ball the other way in the 9th....oh and Aram taking a walk ( lol )

Side note... I have front row seats right behind the Pirates dugout for next weeks game ( thursday april 10th 7:05 ) very excited, I have never been to PNc park and to sit about 20 feet from Aram will be pretty cool

Congrats on the tickets I just missed 2 of Soriano's 3 HR at Atlanta last year missed them by a number of feet. And this was just one game if we start out 0 -10 or 0 -15 I'll be worried but I actually think we'll loose the next one and then win 15 or 16 out of the next 20

Thank you, It should be fun and we are doing the tour of the stadium before...so all in all a fun time. I remember the 3 hr game by Phonze...thats cool as hell that you almost got to 2 of the three.

As far as the Cubs go, I think the lineup will be tweaked a little, as I don't see Soriano staying in the 2nd hole...I really think fuku is going there and Sori to the 5th hole. I was a little concerned by the crazy at bats Theriot had today. He went after two high and outside fastballs from Sheets( 1 good shot into the alley, but caught, and one lazy fly ball into shallow right ) and sent them opp field, he just needs to relax and find a nice, comfortable rythym. We do not need him swinging for power.

man alive...Fukudome's swing is among the most beautiful I have ever seen...

go to the cubs' site and watch the video...i stopped it at different points during the segment which shows the the angle from the 1st base side, and it is a thing of beauty...it looks like the epitome of a baseball swing.

I think he belongs at the top of the order...though I would like to see him lineup between Soriano and Ramirez (or vice versa)...honestly, I think he could go anywhere. but i agree, the 2 spot is where he will likely end up.

                  Re: 2008 Chicago Cubs

Having Fukudome on the team gives them something they have not had in a while, a disciplined hitter who can hit anywhere in the lineup. Lou just has to figure out where to put him. Then to top it off you add that riffle of an arm he has, no more noodle arm Jacque Jones out there.

But what I liked about him the most was that after the home run there was no posing or anything foolish like that. He just put his head down and ran. You got to love that.

Well lets hope they get them tomorrow.

Yeah I agree about the "no posing" statement. His attitude reminds me a lot of DLee...just go out and be a professional, I love that attitude in a ball player. We actually have five players in our lineup like that w/ Lee, Theriot, Fuku, Derosa, and Soto. They are kind of "old school", and I bet Lou loves that mentality.

It's not that I hate when Sori and Aram admire their shots heard round the world, but there is a certain class about the other approach.

I like Fukudomes act like you've done it if before approach. It's good to see that theres still ballplayers like him today.Don't get me started on Ramirez and Soriano, I remember a few times last year where they would start admiring their work thinking they had a homer only to see it bounce of the wall.

                      Here's todays lineup

                      Theriot
                      Soriano
                      Lee
                      Ramirez
                      Fukudome
                      DeRosa
                      Soto
                      Pie
                      Lily

The same as opening day, Derek Lee has done good against the Brewers starter Suppan. In his career vs. Suppan, Lee has five doubles, three HR and nine walks in 45 lifetime PA. The sun is shining here in Chicago nothing woul be better than getting our first win today.

Ehh, it's pretty quite during day games in this "dark room" , but will liven up later tonight.

Nice play by hall, I bet you guys are glad he moved to 3rd from Cfield. 3rd base was a rough spot last year for the Brew Crew.

Ted is starting to look sharp now...doing a nice job of changing speeds and locating his stuff.
