I like when it's Theriot and Fotenot up the middle just so I can say the coonass connection lol

wait...yes I will...what good does Soto do us with Edmonds in front of him and Cedeno behind him? Why is one of our best hitters left to fend for himself at the bottom of the lineup while the half-century-old Edmonds bats 6th?
I agree with this about Edmonds. When I first heard that the cubs were going to sign him I was like WTF? Because Pie had a better avg and has way more speed than Edmonds. Hopefully the Cubs either realize their mistake or Edmonds gets it going.

Do we really need to hit-and-run with Lee on first and ARam at the plate? Do we, Lou?

        That being said....

ARam might be the best 2-strike hitter in baseball...read on espn the other day that after 0-2 he is batting over .300....that is something...he just ripped a 2-2 pitch off broxton, and fukudome did the same, bringing the Cubs the lead going into the top of the 8th...Though edmonds is up, men on 2d and 3d, 2 out...surpirse, surprise, a weak gound out to first....167 now.

I don't think he gives a **** at all...they don't need to cut him, they need to fire him...just think, it could have been Soto in that spot, and we might have blown it open...now we have to hope Wood doesn't blow a 2 run lead...

I'm sorry...didn't think Marmol would walk them full....but he got out of it...and to think I wanted Lou to give him the hook.

Nice rally in the 7th and I love hearing Tommy Lasorda talk baseball the man is a genious when it comes to this game. He was right with what he said about manging. If he managed the way the people in the stands had wanted him to he wouldnt have maneged long. The same goes for all great managers Lou, Joe Torre, Bobby Cox we might not understand all thier moves but thier resume speaks well enough for me not to second guess.

Just out of curiosity. Did any Chicago people bother to watch this on ESPN? Im just curious because I saw it was on both WCIU and ESPN and I thought why would anyone watch it on ESPN?

I think my boss and MLB got together to schedule Cubs broadcasts only when I work...

As far as Lou goes, I really like the guy...but he does things that seem awfully strange at times...and the Edmonds thing has nothing to do with Lou, and todos to do with the player.

Big win for the Cubs. They are now tied with *ahem* Tampa Bay for the best record in the bigs. That just doesn't sound right does it?

It was wierd watching Marmol and Wood last night. It seemed as though they switched roles. Baseball is such an unpredictable game and even good pitchers have off nights. I was watching the game with my dad and after that 3 run rally we were pretty excited. After the 7th inning was over my dad said to me alright we've got Marmol and Wood so this should be easy right? I said dad you know better than that. Of course he agreed and then we proceed to watch Marmol get into a bases loaded jam with 2 bb's and a single. Thankfully, he got out of it and Wood was lights out in the 9th. Good win. Now we need to get the brooms out and close out this series with a sweep. Big Z on the mound tonight so I'm feeling pretty confident but we'll see.

Agreed. He might've helped his cause with a hit with runners on 2nd and 3rd but of course he doesn't come through. I don't think this is going to last long. He just looks lost at the plate. He's pretty much washed up. I never thought I'd say this but bring back Pie. I have never missed a .230 average moreso than right now.

Another solid win and I loved how the team mobbed Soriano after his hit. Cubbies are playing some solid ball and as long as the pitching stays consistent, they'll be in good shape.

Nice sweep of the Dodgers. This was a good comeback win with Soto and Soriano coming up big in the 9th and 10th. Soriano just messes with my emotions way too much for my liking. One day he'll drop an easy fly ball and then he's getting a game winning hit. I guess we'll just have to accept this fact and as Brenly said, "hope he outhits his mistakes."

Next up the Rockies. Let's keep this win streak going.

How many Cubs do you think will be on the All-Star roster?

Man...If we could just play as well on the road as we do at home our record would be amazing.

Thats the old addage though; Win about half your away games and dominate at home...Its just weird to see us play so well at home because I cant remember the last time we were so dominant in Chicago.

I think Zambrano, Soto, and Marmol might be the only cubs All-Stars...cases could be made for Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano, but I think each is outshined by other guys...Ramirez actually might have a better shot than Lee...
