Holy ****!!! The Cubs have taken a 10-9 in the 7th lead after being down 9-1! This comeback has been crazy! They scored 3 in the 6th and 6 in the 7th. Edmonds finally showed up with a 3-4 3 RBI day including a 2b and HR. Hopefully Marmol and Wood can finish them off!

I know. When it was 8-0 nothing I just closed out the mlb site at work and chalked it up as a loss. I also made a stupid bet with a coworker that if the Cubs won I'd buy her lunch anytime she wants. I've never been so happy to lose a bet.

Wood saves it for the Cubs and the Cubs continue their winning ways. The winning streak is now at 5 games and their record moves to 34-21 on the year.

Wow...I logged into gamecast in the 7th, saw the line, and went back to doing some other things...what a difference half-an-hour makes!!! Ho-lee COW!!

            wow...

I still respectfully disagree on the Marmol situation. I fully support using him against the best hitters, whether in the 7th, 8th, or 9th. I think what they are doing is the optimum strategy for getting the most out of him. Though they should use him a tad less often.

My friend just called again and said Marmol looked absolutely filthy, nothin new, and that he struck out three straight left handers...PUT HIS A$$ ON THE ALL-STAR TEAM!

What a comeback!! Without thinking too hard, this might be the best comeback since the 89 Houston game. Marms is so damn good. For once we developed a player. It will be a joke if he isn't an All Star.

Thats Rockies pitching staff of 08 . It could be 20-0 and I wouldn't feel comfortable with the lead

What's shocking is Aaron Cook giving up 7 runs when he's been the only bright spot for the Rockies pitching. Corpas has his mental issues to deal with as he cant keep people off and blowing leads

I dont know. I thought that comeback last year against Milwaukee where Aramis hit that walkoff was pretty big. It wasnt as big of a deficit but it was very consequetial in trying to catch the Brewers.

I think their mostly talking about how far the Cubs actually came back from. If their talking significance wise that Milwaukee game was 10 times more significant than this game.

Looks like Edmonds probably bought himself two or three weeks more time with his performance today. I'm pretty sure he will probably stick around all year if he hasn't been cut by now. I still think he is an upgrade over Pie just because of his defense. He can still cover Center Field better than anybody in baseball.

                        Unbelieveable win today!

Woody makes me nervous, but got the job done.

Wood makes me nervous too, but he's getting the job done and that's all that matters. I thought the game was over too, but hey, I was as happy as anyone to see the team come back and win.

Marms is on fire though....damn he's good

Pie is a much better CF than Edmonds. The only thing Edmonds has on Pie is a better track record of hitting. And actually, the Cubs will have an interesting decision when Ward comes off the DL. But you also have Hoffpuir who has been mildly impressive.

As a matter of fact, Im not so sure Pie isnt the best defensive CF in the NL. But he has kind of been floundering at the plate. Still though, Im not so sure its not worth it to keep Pie and dump Edmonds due to Pies superior defense and speed.

No one still to this day goes back on fly balls the way Edmonds does except Willie Mayes. He takes away so many bloop singles its not even funny because of how shallow he plays.

I disagree. He reads the ball really well but he's not exactly fast. The speed disparity between Edmonds and Pie is huge. And Pie isnt that bad at reading the ball either. A lot of plays that Edmonds dives for that looks spectacular are plays where the better CF with speed catch the ball without needing to dive. I also think Edmonds embellishes from time to time but I just dont think he measures up to the better CF that have speed.
