Unheard Of x Rogue Status - Pete Rose T-shirt

by Eugene Kan, September 5, 2008

Hooking up with one of Cincinnati newest stores in Unheard Of, together with Rogue Status the two brought a Cincinnati and baseball relevant theme to the table as they feature the famous mug of baseball-betting badboy Pete Rose on a t-shirt. The shirt includes a crotch grabbing Pete Rose with the infamous quote, “I’m sorry I bet on baseball” with his signature below which became a bit of a symbolic quote in recent times as he would sign various bits of memorabilia with the quote. The tees drop this Saturday, September 6th at Unheard Of and the following week on Friday, September 12th at Rogue Status’ store in Los Angeles.

I heard about this shirt but I also heard Pete is getting a cut and I refuse to buy anything that puts money in Pete Roses pocket!

From Reading Hal McCoy's Blog and Reports from Spring Training it seems as if he's coming into spring with a new attitude.

We'll see how this works out in the regular season I guess. I'm not one to root for his failure, but he sure didn't win me over last season with his antics.

So at this point is this our line-up?
          CF TAVERAS
LF DICKERSON/GOMES (Gomes will play against lefties, also when Hairston plays LF or ss he will bat second)
          1B VOTTO
          2B PHILLIPS
          RF BRUCE
          3B EDWIN
          C HERNANDEZ
SS GONZO/HAIRSTON (I dont think Gonzo will be able to play everyday)

          ROTATION
          1 HARANG
          2 VOLQUEZ
          3 ARROYO
          4 CUETO

I'd say that's pretty close if not it. I can handle that. I like the rotation.

rotation looks good to me but the lineup...well let's hope for the best.

Taveras at leadoff and Dickerson or Gomes behind him? I'm not a big fan of that at all. Dickerson should hit lower in the lineup to start the season otherwise I feel like he's going to be exposed. Having a lineup of Taveras/Gomes 1/2 you might as well start every game with two strikeouts for the Reds.

Yeah, that is a little scary when you think about it. Votto and Phillips might not have a ton of RBI chances.

Gomes will not bat second when he plays LF or 1B, he would bat 6th or 7th.
I really dont know how much Gomes will play LF, I think Hairston will get most of the AB's when Dickerson sits. Hairston is a great NO. 2 hitter too. I believe most of Gomes AB's will be as a PH or playing some 1B against LH pitchers. They have been playing him at 1B some this spring and he has done pretty good there.

Agreed 100%! Hairston would be very good at the #2 spot behind Tavarez. Do you put Phillips at the 3 spot and Bruce at the 4 or vice versa? I hope Votto is the real deal. I guess only time will tell. But that lineup posted doesn't look too bad other than I like Hairston 2nd.

You put Phillips at the clean up spot and leave him there all year!
Votto is our #3 hitter and will be for the next 10-12 years!
You bat Votto 3, Phillips 4, and Bruce 5 to break up the LH and RH bats.
The idea thing to do would be to get a big RH bat to bat 4th but that did not happen.
Phillips is not a great clean up guy, I would rather bat him 2nd but he must bat 4th with them team.

Volques pitched 6 shut out innings yesterday, put that with the 6 shut out innings Harang pitched the day before and we've got something going here!

I have to admit, I'm getting excited too. I told myself this year was going to suck again, but the bastards are sucking me in. I can't help it... I love the Reds.

I like watching the Reds whether they're a good team or not. I try to go into every season without expectations that way if the Reds win I'm excited but if they lose, it's not that big of a deal. As a fan who pays money for tickets and shirts and whatnot I know I should demand excellence but sadly I know it's not coming.

Another day another 6 shut out innings from a Reds starter, this time it was Cueto.
Three straight games in which the Reds starter has pitched 6 shut out innings!
I am telling you it might not be this year but in the next few years this team will win and win big. They have so many young good players it is scary!
