I take it your joking as he also allowed 5 runs in that one inning.
The Reds went from leading the NL in ERA to 8th in one night!
Their team ERA went from 3.61 to 3.99 in one night.
On a side note Jay Bruce is on pace for 42 hrs and right around 90 RBI's and he really hasnt heated up yet.

It seems as if Phllips bat is starting to come around a bit also.

I was joking with friends that the Reds were going to come back by hitting all solo shots....

We almost did it, just ran out of time.

Why do you have to focus on the negative?

          Yeah, I was joking.

Why can't Arroyo pitch well in '09 during the day at all and in that ballpark regardless of the time of the day? Weird...

Tough series starts tonight against the Cardinals, but the Reds are going with the top 3 pitchers. Cueto, Harang, Volquez.

Well, I can't see this game being played tonight now. It's pouring out. Let's play 2 tomorrow!

Yep, definitely looks that way. Although I'm sad we won't see a game tonight, I'd be pro double header tomorrow.

Edit: I guess they might play tonight...

Amazingly enough, they started the game 10 minutes late and they had no issues with rain. Got a W too, although, David Weathers tried to give it away.

We played very well without several key players and the Cards played very poorly. I don't think we can expect the Cards to play that badly again tonight so lets see what happens.

What do you guys think of Nix starting over Dickerson? I like it. Nix seems like a hardnosed guy that would do will in the starting lineup.

Like I said before, I'll take 2 out of 3.

Especially if you're playing the first place team in your division.

Yeah, I'm fine with that. With Owings hitting that HR in the bottom of the 9th to tie it up, I thought destiny was going to allow a sweep, but it didn't happen.

Things were looking good for awhile.

I would have like to have seen Hairston get that bunt down in the bottom of the 10th, but oh well.

Hairston failed miserably in that at-bat. Popped one bunt straight and was lucky it wasn't caught, then whiffed on the next two attempts, one of which was in the dirt. Ugh. Still, taking two of three from the Cardinals was a good thing especially considering Votto wasn't in the lineup.

I agree. Now we go out out West for two 3 game sets against Arizona and San Deigo. Hopefully we can get 2/3 from both those teams also.
