    Re: 2009 Cincinnati Reds

Down 2-1 tonight, I'm not sure why we aren't starting Rosales tonight. Either way, I hope the team picks up the slack on offense. We've been just plain BAD at the plate so far. Cordero giving up 3 in the Top of the 9th was killing me last night.

I'm tired of losing home series'.

Heard Marty say on the radio when I was driving home from class that the Reds have lost at home to the Astros 10 straight games. That's ridiculous.

Why do I not remember the Reds signing this guy? I vaguely remember him converting to a pitcher. Had no idea he was in the Reds system.

We need to get back out on the road as we suck at home!

And I do remember hearing a while back the Reds signed Ben "I bunted to break up a perfect game" Davis. I am not for sure why the Reds are letting him be the closer at AA, I would rather have a younger, bigger prospect closing games there.

Stellar performance by Edinson Volquez last night. 1 hit through 8 innings as the Reds shutout Houston and end that horrible streak against them at home.

Volquez has gotten better every start. Well, as far as letting guys hit the ball. He did have problems with his control in his start previous of this last one.

Extremely glad to see this. I was scared he'd fall off a bit after such a great year last year. Too many times we see guys have a great year, then fall completely off the face of the Earth the following year. Good to see he's got staying power.

Hell yeah, GREAT performance by EV. HOPEFULLY that dose of Rosales & Nix, mixed w/ BP startin' to hit...the REDS can make some noise

I agree. If we can find the perfect mix of hitting and pitching. It's been so streaky on both ends lately.

How about we take 2 of 3 today from the Pirates. I didn't catch what happened last night, but I'm hoping we can at least win today.

Owings had a bad 1st inning. Wasn't pretty. He was fine the rest of the game until he came out. The Reds dug themselves a bit of a hole they weren't able to crawl out of.

Bonus from last night was listening to Sean Casey talk with George Grande and Chris Welsh during the 5th inning. That was cool. I miss The Mayor!

Very nice outing by Cueto today. It was also nice to see Phillips get two hits today, hopefully he can build off of it.

                            That's the spirit!

I'm off to Long John Silvers for my pregame meal. Hopefully they have Marlin.

On another note, I just realized this is a two game series....

                              Really?!?!? A two game set?!?!?!?

                              Just seems odd to me.

Yeah, and to top it off, Florida plays a 4-game return trip to Cincy in September.
