I am telling you it might not be this year but in the next few years this team will win and win big. They have so many young good players it is scary!
I hope you're right. Hopefully they hold on to these young players and our pitchers don't get the "Wood/Prior" thing happening to them.

this piece made me feel a bit better about the team. still not wild about Taveras leading off.

E5 is still trying to pull everything (according to the article)? When is he going to get it? Watch the Reds trade his *** to someone else and THEN he'll break out.

          Reds trade Keppinger to Astros...

I honestly don't like this move, but it seems we have some young talent that can fit the role if Alex Goonzalex doesn't stay healthy.

Only time will tell I guess.

I loved Kepp, but he just wasn't the same after breaking his knee cap. I wish the best for him though, he can really hit(well, he's shown that he can) and has been one of my favorite players for the past 2 years. I don't really like the trade too much either, but that's mostly because he's one of my favorite players, not to mention he helped me out a lot in my video games

it's unfortunate but he's not the same plus Cincy's got some good young SS coming through the minors. Janish is really good defensively and Rosales is not only good at the plate but is apparently evoking memories of Pete Rose. Rosales is Mr. Hustle, sprints on home runs and even runs to first on walks. There's also a guy named Todd Frazier, he'll break with AA, but some think he'll be the best of the three.

I have heard about Janish, I am just now starting to hear about Rosales. Hopefully they can help us out in the future.

After all, we are a building team.

                  Re: 2009 Cincinnati Reds

Yeah it looks like Janish is going to make the big club now that Kepp has been traded.
One thing you guys are forgetting is Hairston will play SS alot this year.
I am still trying to figure out who is going to make this team. With J.Jones gone we really only have 3 LH bats on our whole team. I warned you guys a few months ago that we needed another LH bat. It looks like Lance Nix may make the team as the 4th OF and a LH bat off the bench to PH.
Also check out MLB.com they are saying the Reds have some interest in Gary Mathews Jr???
They are saying the Angels want Harang or Arroyo in return. What do you think about that?
I really think they should consider it, we really need another proven OFer.
What happens if Dickerson struggles (like I think he will) and Hairston is forced to play alot of SS? We dont really have back up plan right now for LF.

Gary Mathews Jr., I don't know about that. He only got on base at a .319 clip last year. Do we really want that? I do think we have enough depth to ship Bronson Arroyo away for a LH bat, but I don't think GMJ is the right one.

I'd rather take a chance on signing Sheffield or Jenkins, than trading Harang or Arroyo for GMJ, who IMO isn't that good. Unless we get some solid prospect back from the Angels in the deal, I really wouldn't like that deal.

It sounds like Dustin Moseley's name was being tossed around as that prospect, which is funny because that is who the Reds traded to the Halos for Ramon Ortiz.

Dusty is at it again, he called Sheffield last night and wants him to sign with the Reds.
I just dont know what to think about signing Sheff. If he has anything left it would be great. But he as just horrible last year and so far this spring for the Tigers.
If we did sign him we could bat him 4th and more Phillips to the 2 hole where he belongs.

I'd take Sheffield over GMJ. And we wouldn't have to trade anyone either. The problem is, where does Sheff play? This is the NL, we don't have a DH. Do they move Votto off 1st and into the outfield and put Sheff there? Or can Sheff still roam the outfield himself?

Too many questions. I don't know if it'll happen.
