Pitiful, just pitiful. I had a feeling Masset was going to blow it. I think we should put Willis in left field for games he doesn't pitch to get his bat in the lineup :/

Wow...wow...wow. Either the pitching sucks or we're leaving runners on base. It's only frustrating b/c the potential is there.

Hoping the have an 07 Rockies run in em.

          Re: 2011 Cincinnati Reds

Dusty is one of the worst game time managers in baseball. The decisions he makes to pull the starters and leave struggling bullpen pitchers in the game (ala Massett and Logan this week) is mind boggling.
As a result, Massett and Logan are highly over worked and it's beginning to really show. Massett has now been used 5 in of the last 7 games and over his last 5 innings has allow a staggering 19 base runners, while Logan has allowed 11 base runners over just the last 3.1 innings. Yet Dusty continues go to his struggling over used relievers with the game on the line.
Don't forget about the Cardinals game that Dusty kept a struggling Chapman in the game allowing him to give up 8 earned runs while only recording one out. I thought I had seen it all until I saw Dusty manage the bullpen that day.
There is no question that Dusty has cost this team close to 10 ballgames this year with the way he has managed the game (And that's a conservative estimate) .

          (End of Rant)

It's been a while OS. Hope all are doing well!

If you listen to the media or the beat writers, from what I've seen, they all like Dusty.

You know what is kind of interesting that I just thought of, the Reds seem to be kind of like the 2010 Cardinals. Part of the Cards demise was the fact they couldn't beat the Nats, Pirates, or Astros, for example, but they would play great against the Reds or just as well against other playoff caliber teams. The 2011 Reds seem to have some similarities although they seem to have lost more series' the last month or two, regardless of opponent, than won them.

They do tbh. They are just so damn inconsistent. Nick Masset has been terrible lately. Willis could be 5-0 so far, and he is our best hitter :/
Maybe this year can be a good test to see how some of the prospects play in the majors

Along those lines, as much as I love Ramon Hernandez, I think they need to trade him to a contender this month and bring up Meseraco. I want to see what some of these young guys can do.

Yeah. Hernandez is hitting the ball great though, he has been the only player it seems to be consistent all year

I agree but what's the point? He's an integral part of a 4th place team, sad as it is. Let Meseraco and Hanigan catch these last couple of months. Trade Ramon for a decent prospect with some upside.

By the way, great start to the series in Chicago today. Another 12 guys LOB. Shockingly, according to this (http://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat...-base-per-game) source the Reds are only 8th worst in MLB with an average of 14.69 LOB/game.

Tbh, Hanigan might be in the same boat Hernandez is in. We also have Grandal down there, even if he is in lower minors. I think we might be seeing Dave Sappelt up here soon, because Stubbs is not getting it done. Stubbs has all the potential too

He's the only real bright spot this season. It's a shame he missed some time with that injury. He is right at the borderline with IP for leading the league in ERA. I think he's in 1st now but after this weekend, the minimum to qualify goes up, which it obviously keeps doing every week.

Yeah, it was a shame he missed the first month. First thing the Reds need to do though is sign BP to a long term deal.

it would be cool to see Cueto be one of the Cy Young contenders. probably won't happen because he doesn't have the strike outs or wins but having a 1.57 ERA, or something like that, at a hitter's ballpark in GABP must mean something
