Kris Bryant just homered off of King Felix. This dude just isn't human. He's a damn video game.

And he hit another... 2-2 with 5 RBI

At this point, I don't care if he plays third with no glove.. he needs to be in the OD lineup

Yep. I'm done trying to convince people. Russell has a 2-run bomb also.

I'm just going to sit back and let Bryant and Russell do the talking for me.

I get the business side of it. As a fan, I just want to see him play as much as possible.

Those two home runs Bryant hit today, weren't off 'get-me-over' fastballs; first one was a change-up, second one was a curve.

                THAT'S a guy who's ready.

You know for a fact Russell is better because of what he has done at the minor league level? Even though Castro actually outperformed Russell at the plate in the minors at this stage lol Great logic there.

Noticed how many of the people you just mentioned actually managed Starlin? Oh that's right, none. Len Kasper? Seriously? Guy never played a day of competitive baseball in his life. Do you believe everything the media feeds to you?

And now you can interpret how people look at other people?

Everyone who has managed Castro sans Sveum (who completely lost the team) has raved about Castro's work ethic and motor to be great. Maddon has even made multiple comments about it this off season. It has been well documented that the last two years Castro has taken on extra hitting and fielding work in addition to club organized drills. But you certainly know more than them right?

You're seriously comparing the Zambrano situation to Castro? Zambrano was FIGHTING PEOPLE IN THE DUGOUT. But, not running out a routine ground ball every now and then is definitely much worse than that. How could I have been so blind?

'Conditioned to settle'. Wut? If settling for one of the best pure hitting middle infielders in the league is settling, then yes, I'm guilty.

If Castro is this bad, why would the Phillies even consider taking him for Hamels in the first place? You continue to talk yourself in circles and make zero sense while doing so.

Yes, please be done. Thanks in advance.
Castro can hit but man he's slacking on defense he had a couple of bad plays Thursday night. I really thought that would be improved in the off season and ST.

Castro was injured most of last spring training and had one of his best years. I would be careful with the Spring Training scouting. Also I'm a big Russell fan but I feel like some of you think he's Andrelton Simmons out there on defense.

What is there left to say with Bryant though, man he is impressive.

Yep, and it won't change either. Anyone who says otherwise, is fooling themselves. He just has an overall lazy approach to his game. Real good player, but he's definitely expendable.

It'll get real interesting once Russell starts tearing up AAA.

Gotta do the right thing and let the kid break camp with the team.

I'm fully in this camp now.

Bryant is making it really tough on the Cubs front office. At this point, if he continues to play like he is, barring injury, he needs to make the club. He can make an immediate impact to help the team get off to a good start. Also, it's never a bad thing to create a positive relationship with a player and his agent. It will interesting that's for sure.

So I have a question here:

Do the Cubs actually make it painfully obvious and call Bryant up right on the 17th, or do they 'mask' it by waiting a few more days/weeks??

This is another thing that I don't like about this stupid decision and/or rules.

The Cubs don't have to mask anything. It's not like they are doing anything illegal or secretive by calling him up. The rule is the rule. They can call him up at Midnight if they want, as long as it is 11 days into the season.

Fair enough. Regardless of what side you're on, this whole thing stinks.

I wonder if they start him in LF at AAA, and that might "delay" his arrival. That's one way of 'masking' it, I guess. Saying he needs to learn that position.

They're going to put him there this week to start working on it.
