Re: 2013 Atlanta Braves Thread
I say no. If you want to win this year (and this is a team that can win a title, imo) you don't trade a guy like McCann unless you can get an everyday player back. And I don't really see any position of need. 3B looks good, and even if the pitching falters, we get Beachy and his career 3.07 era back midway through the year. The scariest position on the field for the Braves, if they didn't have McCann, would be Catcher.Comment

No shopping unless out of the playoff hunt. Now you certainly listen, but the other teams making an offer are going to be in the playoff hunt, so you don't want to trade him to the competition.Comment

Re: 2013 Atlanta Braves Thread
I hope Mac spends his entire career with the Braves, but realistically he's likely gone after this season. I don't think they'd trade him, but if Gattis is still hitting like this in July and you can move him for some good prospects or a missing piece, it'd be tempting.Comment

I'd rather move on without him after this year. You have two seemingly good options at catcher, both of whom are much younger and cheaper. Then you can use the McCann money to add at other spots, like pitching, or lock up Heyward or Freeman longterm.

I think they've found the hole in Gattis' swing. Detwiler has been living above the zone to him all night.

I think a lot of Nats fans left when it was 4-0. There were a lot of boos when a Kimbrel pitch was called a ball. And you could totally hear the tomahawk chop!Comment

It really is incredible...this team hasn't even played well. It's really been the pitching, timely hitting, Evan Gattis, and a LOT of Justin."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Justin Upton, Evan Gattis, Chris Johnson, and Ramiro Pena are the top offensive players on the team so far during a 10-1 start to the season.
If someone predicted this a few months ago, Braves fans would say that they were delusional.Cleveland Browns
