That's what they get for bringing in a guy who spent most of his time with the franchise, in the minors.

I'm surprised Jays aren't using more guys from the 90s as commentators and stuff. Cause many of them still are around and helping the Jays with promotional stuff, so don't see how they wouldn't mind doing commentary(if they're good)

A couple off the cuff comments

        - JP Arencibia should never catch R.A. Dickey again

        - Colby Rasmus better start hitting because I have a feeling Athony Gose is going to do some big things in AAA and it's not going to be fair to him to keep him down just because of Colby.

        - Over/Under on the attendance next game? I set the number at 23,500.

Ya, JP shouldn't catch Dickey ever again. Just opening day and already 3 passed balls!? Some guys don't even have that much in an entire season. Blanco had 3 in all of 2010(He caught Dickey 50 innings(7 games) that year, not sure how many of those 3 were in Dickey games, but either way, Blanco gets start on Sunday for sure)

People bought tickets for opening week already so doubt attendance would be low.

Around 30,000 mark I'd expect for most games this year, 35,000+ for division rivals/games if Jays are in playoff contention(in 2nd half of season).

3 of the 5 seasons Jays won 90+ games, they lost on opening day. Lets just hope that they learn from this game and are brought back down to earth now. Now it's time to act like any other good MLB team would after a loss.

I am sure the team knows how to handle their opening day loss. It's just one game, brush it off and come back tomorrow. I'm just not so sure some of the fans and the media know how to handle the loss since many people from these two demographics had already crowned the 2013 Blue Jays World Series Champs before the first pitch was thrown.

I can't see Gose staying down over Colby the year.

At some point Lind as a lefty bat in the lineup is going to mean less than putting anyone else in his spot. He is a far cry from what he was at his best.

I do wonder overall what effect Gibby will have on this team. We'll have to wait a month or so to see if this team looks as incoherent at the plate as his last one—which I know was a terrible one on paper.

So uh, can Lawrie get better soon? Izturis had a couple tough balls to handle in the field but man...I think Lawrie probably would've come up with those balls and done better in the field.

Oh and here's your cool trivia for the night: Mark DeRosa changed his number to 16 in honor of Joe Montana.

Whoever came up with that "Stadium Love" stuff needs to be hanged, drawn, and quartered. I will start watching the other team's broadcasts if it doesn't disappear before long.

Yeah, it's brutal. I get that Metric, and Emily Haines specifically from her days with Broken Social Scene are associated with the brand of homegrown coolness ubiquitous with the young professional group these days, but it doesn't work for baseball.

It's nice to see the makeup of the lineup working like it's supposed to tonight. Jose and Edwin taking out the trash.

The only part of that Stadium Love song I like is the "ooh ooh ooh" part. The rest is pure trash.

Nice to see the offense show up tonight hopefully it's a preview of what they'll do to the Red Sox.

Bonifacio proving today how much he can help Jays, and if Bautista is out for a game or so, Bonifacio could take over in OF depending on pitching matchups.

Lefty tomorrow means Rasmus and/or Lind both on bench most likely. If Bautista can't play, then I see OF consisting of Melky,Davis,Bonifacio. DeRosa at 3B,Izturis at 2B, everything else the same.

It might be safest to sit Bautista for a game or two. Even though it's a twisted ankle his swing puts a lot of torque on that area which could lead to a nagging thing. I'd be ok with treatment and a few days rest. Against a lefty maybe Melky can slide to three and EE can stay put. Not sure how good a hitter he is as a righty though. He's a natural lefty correct?

Put him at DH. If he thinks he can play, he can play.

                              So....2-4.

Crazy to think that before season started, the Jays-Tigers matchup was looking like a battle between two above .500 teams, and as of now, Tigers are at .500 and Jays are 2 games below.

Only 6 games in obviously so things will change quickly. Bautista likely starting on Tuesday, but Lawrie might be out for a couple more games?

                              Two R.A Dickey linescores:
                              4.1IP,8H,8ER,2BB,5K,3HR
                              4.2IP,10H,7ER,2BB,5K,2HR

First one is from Start #3 in 2012, 2nd one is his start today.

After start #3 in 2012, he went 81 innings allowing just 11 earned runs.

Here's hoping he turns it around in his 3rd start this year or it's gonna look like the Jays threw away D'Arnaud for a guy who lost his effectiveness on the mound. I'm one of those guys who was/is very high on D'Arnaud's future in the big leagues.
