Yeah, D'Arnaud was a painful one to give up. I can understand why they did it, but Dickey always seemed like more of a gamble to me than how AA framed it. We'll see.

        NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Well there goes our table setter. The man was pretty much the MVP of the team.

Why Reyes? Why is it always the most important guy when he's hot? Bautista turns around a terrible start and rockets to the top of the league in HR's. Morrow dealing, out. Reyes, the only guy who has been consistently excellent this year, and he goes down the second week of the season.

It blows my mind sometimes what goes on with pro sports teams in this city. Not even Cleveland seems this cursed.

Raptors could get Lebron, Leafs could get Stamkos, Jays could get Miguel Cabrera and Toronto teams would still end up losing!

With Reyes out, Jays need a new SS.

I'm thinking deal with Brewers could happen?

Brewers NEED a 1B. All the guys who started at 1B for them this season, had never started at 1B before in their careers.

Jays trade Lind and get Betancourt and some prospect?

Or sign Bartlett in free agency.

I could see that being doing and UGH I guess they would make Betancourt the leadoff hitter too? Maybe they can find room on the roster for Gose and play him every day at DH or one of the OF spots and be the leadoff guy. It'd be more natural for him.

It really does seem this city is cursed when it comes to sports.

Bautista hurts ankle, out 3 days.
Reyes hurts ankle, out 3 months.

I some how doubt (hope) it isn't that long. Even then, it's April. I doubt he would have been our best player all year. That would be Bautista and EE in the end, and hell, I'd say JP has been right up there with Reyes thus far. The rest of the team will come around. No Reyes hurts, but Rajai and Cabrera have some speed, and in the end, it's going to come down to what Bautista, EE, and Lawrie do; not what Reyes isn't there to do.

Some reports are saying grade II sprain ~2 months. I'd expect at least three. I had the same injury a couple years ago. It actually improved a ton within the first month and just under two I had no adverse effects—though I hear it can sometimes linger for some people. I didn't have access to the medical care Reyes does, but I did really work at the prescribed rehab stuff. You have to give him his time though. I am not the athlete he is, and his game demands a lot from the ankle.

If the Jays pitching can stabilize, Lawrie can come back healthy, and the team can remain relatively healthy, Reyes could be a nice boost near the end of July/August. Obviously it's not ideal, but if the team can find their way into wildcard territory without him it it might work out all right.

Lets hope Jays can have similar season as Leafs did. Leafs losing their best player, and so many people stepped up during that time.

5-6 record right now, a sweep of Royals puts us at .500! Lets hope if that does happen, we hopefully never drop below .500 again.

What happened with Ricky Romero? I know he got sent to minors, but he hasn't pitched a single game yet.

Probably working on mechanics off the mound. Pitching more isn't the answer right now. And if he started giving up hits to A-ballers and looking like he did at the majors, he'd really look bad.

By sounds of it, Lawrie could be playing 2B, Bautista goes to 3B and probably Izturis moves to SS. That's how things will be at least until something goes real wrong, or Reyes comes back.

Then Bonifacio probably the RF(since OF is his best position).

Bet Rajai gets more playing time out there than Bonifacio. Need someone at the top of the order and he can fill in fine.

Never ever understood why they converted Lawrie from a 2B in Milwaukee's farm team to a 3B from Toronto. His athleticism is better suited for 2B.

I also never understood why they played Bautista in RF instead of 3B. I get that he has a great arm but I've never been impressed by his range in the outfield.

The best offensive line-up they can field would have Lawrie at 2B and Bautista at 3B. It seems the front office is finally waking up.

Not if it just means moving Bautista from RF to 3B, Lawrie from 3B to 2B, and Bonifacio from 2B to RF. At the end of the day, the same guys are in the lineup. Now if they play Davis in the outfield like I think, then it would depend on his performance. Either way, you aren't seeing any significant improvement unless they get a better bat in RF.

It also opens up a spot for Anthony Gose's inevitable return.

Bautista is out today with back spasms. This is all moot if he can't stay healthy.
