    Re: 2013 Toronto Blue Jays

Lets hope Jays can continue to play better each game.

Hoping to be at least .500 by halfway point in season.

That'd require us going 28-19 in our next 47 games. Obviously a fair amount of time until we play that much(since we're only like 20% of the way through the season so far), but if we can at least be .500 at the halfway point, it'd keep spirits up on the team and let guys know that there's still hope

I hope Happ's OK. That was brutal and I sure hope MLB is looking at padded hats because someone will get killed one of these days. Just brutal.

Back to the game, I thought the team again showed tremendous fight to chip away and ultimately win the game. 3 in a row and the team's improving which is all we can ask for at this point. Janssen has become such a good pitcher and loved how he closed the game out strongly tonight.

      Let's keep it rolling boys

Janssen looks like the most nervous man on the face of the earth when he pitches but more often than not he gets the job done. He should've gotten the closer job a couple of years ago but i'm glad he's the man now.

I agree, they just gotta keep taking it one day at a time.

Yeah, it's amazing how he is a location monster with nerves like that. Usually you see the jittery guy as a flamethrower type.

I wonder if Santos will ever be back in a Jays uniform.

For some reason I can't stop watching this damn team even after I said I would spend less time tuned in.

I feel bad for Romero. It's painful to see him struggle the way he is tonight. You know his teammates have his back too and want to see him do well. I do think he may have been called up too early instead of being given more game time in the minors to sort his mechanics out.

Well...That was fast as Rickey has been demoted to Triple A.

I thought he was called up too early. Hopefully they let him sort things out properly before sending him back up. I felt he was kind of set up to fail with the hasty call up

Agreed, former MLB pitcher CJ Nitkowski was on the radio this evening and said he thinks if Ricky is gonna get back anywhere near what he used to be it's gonna be with another team. I can see his point as we've seen previously with some players on the Blue Jays that hit a wall and can't get back to their previous levels. (Aaron Hill, Travis Snider)

A split in the house of horrors that is Tropicana field is a good thing IMO though the Jays easily could've won 3 of 4 or even all 4 games if Romero didn't crap all over the bed.

Here's hoping they can get consistent pitching to go with the somewhat re-awakened offense.

Yeah the offense is definitely getting better, but we need the starters to pitch deep into games again. Between Buerhle stinking, Happ's unfortunate injury, and Ricky's forgetful start, our bullpen is stretched.

I know this sounds silly, but why not give Cecil another shot in the rotation. He's been relatively solid out of the pen this year and with the injuries/poor performances, why not? I know he struggled last time out, but maybe this might be the opening for him to get a shot

Glad the Leafs game overshadowed tonight's one-hit performance.

Hey, Ramon Ortiz gave up fewer runs than Buerhle or Ricky. That's a positive right? Right?

You are sure finding some good gifs there!

Yeah I thought Ortiz pitched pretty well. It'd look a lot better if the Jays could've had more than one stinkin' hit.
